  • Vegimite Jar

    Low key triggered right now.

Tbh, I don't even like Vegemite enough to bother about this but I think the price is just about right. Haven't had Nutella in so long I can't really make a judgement there though.

Thanks for pointing out the typo.

Already seen bogans trying to get poo nutella.

Btw, nobody has bothered asking me (I work there) but I think you can get them price matched to Woolies/Coles to save a bit more, the cost and effort to make the label is really low so I'm sure that they would match according to the policy.

    Eg: Vegemite $7.00

    Nutella $4.00

They've told us that we have to do it as 24 hour service which is stupid.. I used to do it in 5 minutes but management got annoyed.

    • Are you really sure?

I would assume these are somewhat exclusive to Kmart and is considered a special item, hence the price difference.

The selling point isn't really what's inside the jar, but rather what's outside.

I believe so, the policy makes no mention regarding special promotions being excluded. It states it must be "same brand, same model, same colour", this qualifies for all 3, but it all comes down to the team member/managers discretion I guess. I hardly ever see price matches at my store, people find it hard to find a better price elsewhere or just don't look.

        • "same brand, same model, same colour"

Having a customisable label isn't exactly "same brand, same model, same colour". The service provided ie. Customised label printing, is not available at Coles.

Stores don't even have to price match same item but different colour models.

Perhaps it's best to check with your manager first.

        • @Ughhh:

I guess so, can't see any issue with it but can see your side of it. I doubt anyone will bother doing it, was just chucking it out there for the discussion.

        • @doweyy: they would have the same barcode as un modified item, it would be the same product in computer. thanks for the suggestion.

  • Can I have a jar printed for a friend? Do they have an Acceptable Name Policy in place? Asking for a friend :-)

    • Yep, you can put any reasonable name, doesn't have to be yours. There's an acceptable name policy in place which links to a database created by the companies, heaps of names work just not anything bad.

Myer has it too, I also saw Tim Tam packs that you can get a name on. No idea of the price.

  • Would you like to receive 1as a gift. Buy a lottery ticket if your desperate.

  • The tim tam ones look shockingly tacky compared to the quality of the Nutella ones. The paper/sticker is thin and the printing quality is poor.

  • If you Allen's and money is no object you can get a jar for $30 at Melbourne Central. Though tbh everyone who has posted a picture of the jar was gifted it.
