  • Is it worth waiting for Black Friday/Cyber Monday or will their deals be the same as here?

    • It depends on the store but generally for Australian retailers Click Frenzy will probably be as good as it gets, many don't participate in Black Friday/Cyber Monday and if they do you'd imagine it would be a lesser offer if anything.

      Look at past deals for the store also to see if there is some trend in past Click Frenzy/Black Friday deals to see what they usually offer, if anything and how it compares.

  • I'm still new to clickfrenzy and subscribed when I saw it advertised on facebook. How exactly does it work? The prices on the posters look too good to be true

      Basically it's a big sale event that a number of retailers participate in, offering some offer/discount as part of Click Frenzy. You can see the deals/stores that participate above or on the Click Frenzy website, there isn't any need to subscribe to Click Frenzy itself, it's just an email list.

      However to gain subscribers, Click Frenzy themselves, via their website (unlike everything else which are sales offered directly by the retailer) have a number of low priced items like the $10 TVs etc. They will probably send out clues as to where to find these items on the actual Click Frenzy website, they are low in number and incredibly hard to get. Probably not something to worry about unless you have some free time as there will be 10000s of people trying to get these low priced items that there might only be 5 or 10 of. If you are interested you can subscribe to their email list and wait for details on the $10 tvs etc from 7pm and onwards.

      For most of us Click Frenzy is just a day where a heap of retailers have sales, some good, some average, but on OzBargain the best deals get voted and it's also good to keep an eye out for stores/retailers you are personally interested in.

    • For the 'Go Wild deals', ie $10 TVs, $2 Fitbits etc. last year it was PayPal or credit card. I think the general consensus is that PayPal was the quicker of the two.

    • I reckon 10% off at Chemist Warehouse would be the way to go, they are already pretty reasonable for fragrance prices.

          Nope exact same. Department stores would lead you to believe that because all of their stock is overpriced.

      • on the main page there are categories, hover over them and you will see them

        • So we hang out on this page to wait for the banner at the top to change. That's what it seems like to me.

          The instructions say to "browse the deals", but when you do so, you end up on non-click-frezy pages (e..g, Sony's store with click frenzy deals) that have no banner at the top. Makes me think that browsing deals is a bad way to get the 99% off items.

    I had a chrome addon refreshing the page every 2 seconds, caught the banner the moment it appeared and it was sold out in the couple of seconds it took to get to paypal.

      I didn't use a bot and was able to get the Xbox. I have NBN, used a desktop PC (I doubt you would ever be successful using a phone/tablet). I was already logged into paypal and had my address added to the Click Frenzy store account. You just have to refresh every second and as soon as the banner is up memorise the code, click on the banner, click "checkout" (do NOT click on paypal), add the code to the promo spot and click confirm.

          @18: Zooming out on the category page as far as you can helped last year, however because you need the promo code this year it's best to just scroll down to the bottom of each page and keep refreshing until the ad appears

          It doesn't seem like the ads are going to appear anywhere else on the category pages this year based on the deals released yesterday so I think it's a pretty safe strategy!

          As for the fraud accusations their main deciding factor for determining whether an order was “fraudulent” or not (they weren’t actually fraudulent, but that’s another discussion…) was actually the purchase date/time compared to the date/time each ad was published on the Click Frenzy site linking to each product. If the purchase time was earlier than the ad reveal time they assumed that those customers had used other means to access the product pages (such as Shopify’s default Collections view).

          Spreading false information when you’re just guessing and don’t actually have any facts/evidence to back up your statements doesn’t help anyone.

          I followed this drama closely and I'm hardly guessing. Call it a strong correlation. But clearly there is no proof either way that anyone outside of the click frenzy crew can provide.

          But besides the countless people getting orders cancelled when winning more than one on the same account, I heard no one that lost items when winning multiple items across different accounts. I also heard nothing of anyone losing their price if they used the store page "cheat", but only won 1 item per account (and I know multiple such people IRL).

          And when orders got cancelled, it was always every item you've won.

          Clearly there must have been some exceptions for winning multiple prizes, but yours is the first I've heard of.

      Definitely click bait for me, but if I managed to snag something I certainly wouldn't be complaining ;)

      The "deals" that are being advertised aren't awesome however.

      Noticed yesterday Nike had 20% off, and 5% cashrewards. Was bummed, approx loss $40, but hey that's life eh…

    • I'm not really sure what this Click Frenzy thing is all about other than being a "wrapper" for a bunch of stores deciding to have sales at the same time.

      It strikes me that this is nothing more than the Boxing Day sales (just of lesser quality) … a lucky few happen to get the real bargains, there are some decent general discounts offered by a small number of retailers and the old stock no one is buying anyway gets wheeled out for cheap, but still doesn't move.

      I think if you take it for what it is … another slot in the calendar when retailers look to put on sales … then it's probably fair enough. If you expect a deal "frenzy", you'll be disappointed.

      Depends how wrong you typed it.
      I can get mail if the address is got a few typos, but it will most likely be at your local post office as undelivered if you typed your postcode correctly.

      I was thinking the same thing. I can see my old order in the history of my account. If they just check for ANY order by the same address, then it will get cancelled.

      Logically they would just check this year, but from what we've seen earlier, they are not always very reasonable and they are definitely not very flexible or interested in any sort of discussion.

      After entering shipping address, there was a button labelled "Continue to payment method". To the right of that was a summary of my cart's contents (showing full price) and a text box where I was able to enter the code, hit "Apply" and change the price to $2.

      So the correct order would be to enter the code, press "Apply", then "Continue to payment method", which leads to PayPal.

    So I just won a drone, however almost instantly I received a Cancellation Notification…

    I won a Fitbit earlier so I am guessing that is why they have cancelled my order.

    I completely understand and actually agree with the "one item per household" condition, however they seem to be deciding themselves which prize you receive (and based on my experience going for the much cheaper option for them) if you win more than one rather than allowing you to choose, which is incredibly disappointing.

    Has anyone else experienced the same this year? At the very least they should allow those of us who have been lucky to score two prizes to choose which one we would prefer.

    I had the long PayPal loading too. I have 3 windows open, each doing auto-refresh about 1.5 seconds apart from each other. Maybe I'll move to 4 for the TV. Haha

        Haven't had that, and I'm reloading 3 times every 5 seconds and been doing that without any issues. Thing is, when I do see the code in one window and click to open a new window to check out, the three windows still auto refresh. Those auto-reloads could cause just the slightest delay in my trying to check out, and hence the advantage of faster refreshes could be hurting my checkout time.

    • Not to be rude but if you can't reload the page every 1.5 seconds in a single window you probably won't have much luck

      • but I can watch a TV show in a small window in the corner of the screen. :-) I don't watch it very closely, but listen to everything. Passes the time.

    Easiest ways to ensure you have an edge above everyone

    This might be late to post this. Hopefully someone can help.

    if I were to try and get the last deal (the tv), and I miss out which is most likely, but if I get charged which some people seem to be will my bank charge a dishonour fee? (ANZ is $35).

    I know I can get a refund if I am charged, but knowing the real price of the tv would be in the thousands, money that I don't have n my account, I'm guessig my account would go over, which I'm guessing would leave me with a dishonour fee to pay?

    Paypal seems to be the bottleneck. Was really slow again as others report. I have the one-touch thing enabled as well (am sure the rest of you do too), so I don't have to log in or anything. Just kept spinning.

    Was the first to post that I didn't get it above, so perhaps I wasn't too far off from getting one. Haha. Have a good one everyone. The manual refreshing is hell on the hand, but I think it's a better play than several auto-refresh windows.

      same. Paypal login took roughy 5-8 seconds to do it's thing. That 5 seconds is crucial for checkout.

      What browser did people use? I was using 64-bit cyberfox. Maybe Chrome is faster…

      • I used Chrome. Usually use Safari, but Chrome seems faster.

        Note that there are ways to "hack" this without having to play fairly, and I suspect that some may have done this (not accusing the people here). One could scan the html source code for changes and/or a link to the click frenzy store, and then use that to open both the store window and the banner automatically.

        If you know what you're doing, it's doable.

  • If you are not subscribed to their email newsletter - it's pretty clear in the terms that you are not eligible for the prize so they will check the email of your CF Store account against their subscribers.

    Anyone got any notifications about an item other than gift cards?

    • I don't have conditions in front of me, but I interpreted it that you'd need to be a subscriber to get the clues. Keeping in mind that people have multiple emails addresses, I might be a subscriber on a different address for example.

      Either way, if that's the case (and if signing up for the store account didn't automatically subscribe you) I'm sure many people will be caught out.

When i put in the cosignment number and postcode on http://www.alliedexpress.com.au/ it says "The specified job was not found on postcode(xxxx) Please check with sender" What am i doing wrong?? Also my tracking number is in the format of "TEMxxxxxx" where xxxxxx are a string of numbers

  • I typed the wrong address in my order so I emailed their customer service and after taking my order number they never got back to me. That was weeks ago. So today I went out to their offices in Mount Waverley and spoke to them. Apparently I had been flagged because I'm not subscribed and they can't send me the Google Home. There's "nothing they can do" because it's in their terms.
    Word of advice: check if you're subscribed!!!

  • Click Frenzy canceled my Xbox order today stating "it was canceled because it contravenes the Click Frenzy store terms and conditions. Note that the terms of the sales state that there is only one item per household or per user. and your payment has been refunded." Must've been because I won the Xbox then I won the $100 Myer Gift Card for $1 which was canceled straight away. Now the Xbox has been canceled that I won first so I have nothing. Wasn't aware of the 1 item per household policy until the second item was canceled.

    Only reason I can see me being in violation of the Terms is that myself and friends had a get-together at my house to use my NBN and each have a go, we all only won one prize each and they're being shipped to our respective houses, but I think because all of the orders came from the same network they'll say it all falls under the "one per household" category unfortunately.

        • All prizes cancelled? You should definitely call and ask why your prize was cancelled. Doubtful it would lead to anything, but would be interesting to hear what reason they give if nothing else, ie if they bring up the multiple users on same IP. Which technically doesn't breach conditions, although it might be a hard one to sell.

    So it turns out orders were cancelled for several people here at work. If you run a competition during work hours, then you are bound to get multiple users on the same company IP address. We have 20 staff all participating. So long as we have unique households, we are not breaching any terms and conditions. Will definitely be taking this further. If I find enough people in the same boat, happy to take to VCAT.

        • @Mortifer: Normally, it takes only 2 days since when they update the order status to "fuflfilled", to when the courier actually delivers the parcel to your door. So don't be worried as you still have time :).
