  • If anyone finds it cheaper please let me know. I did as much hunting as I could during my lunch break at work. it seems 405-409 is the standard price.
I might nab this up myself :)

  • 21:9 UltraWide® Full HD IPS Display
The UltraWide 21:9 aspect ratio makes games and movies more immersive than ever. The clarity of 1080p pixel Full HD resolution with IPS is a game-changer. Simply put, from any viewing angle, everything looks more crisp and detailed in Full HD.

What will happend with 1080p on 21:9 screen?

    • +1

Instead of your standard 1920x1080 its 2560x1080

      • OP should update the description, it is 2560x1080 or not FULL HD.

"The UltraWide 21:9 aspect ratio (2560 x 1080) makes games and movies more immersive than ever. The clarity of 1080p pixel Full HD resolution with IPS is a game-changer. Simply put, from any viewing angle, everything looks more crisp and detailed in Full HD. 2 x HDMI, Displayport"

          What are you smoking?

          "Full HD" is 1920×1080.

          This is 2560x1080.

It's BIGGER than Full HD, which means it can certainly display Full HD content at its native resolution, you just get letterboxed images.

        • @0blivion:

Because in OP description it said "21:9 UltraWide® Full HD IPS Display"

That is why I am wondering how?

        • @superforever:

          you just get letterboxed images.

        • @0blivion:

Some people are not meant for greatness…

        • @superforever:

          Still 1080p

        • @phunkydude:

          This monitor actually is 2560x1080

        • @superforever:

          yea, that's 1080p as well

        • @phunkydude:

OK I thought only 1920x1080 call Full HD.

        • @superforever:
I think 1920x1080 is the general reference for 1080p or full HD but they apply to 2560x1080 also because its still 1080p

        • +1

@0blivion: You mean Pillarboxed. The black bars are on the sides. It is only an issue with 16:9 content though, as motion pictures have the right aspect and can be zoomed to full screen.

        • @Major Mess:

Yup, but most people understand what letter-boxed means, while even I had to Google pillar boxed to make sure it's the right term. Practicality > Technically correct =/.

    • +1

      Black bars either side.

      • Yes thats correct.
I plan on using a 21:9 for gaming and video+design stuff.

I have a separate monitors for watching videos on to avoid the hassle of black bars :)

      • +3

Unless viewing a 21:9 movie then it's glorious full screen …

  • These guys are good to deal with, ordered 4 x https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/29-LG-29UM58-P-UltraWide-Full-HD… on Wednesday evening and have arrived today.

    • I am torn between the one you linked and the one I posted :X I wish I hadn't just bought a 27" 1ms monitor. That way I could get the 144hz 34" ultra wide one :P

      • The one in my link is sold out, I bought 4 of the last 5 left in the listing. I had to get this size to fit where I needed them, the 34" ones were too high.

        • Yeah but theres a few roughly that price also. Maybe like $6 higher.
I really want an ultrawide for my design and editing work. But the choice is so hard on a budget lol

        • @Originality:

The LG ones are great value. If you aren't in a hurry then keep an eye out for the Dell 29" ultrawides on the Dell Outlet site. I have 3 of these in use and they are very good too, about $350 IIRC.

        • @edman: I might save up for the black friday sales. Try and grab a deal similar to these.

  • +1

Nice ive been looking for 2 to replace mine now but still can not make my mind up

    • Im going to ponce on this deal if the other purchases Im looking at making aren't done deals by sunday.

      • Just be careful they dont sell out i missed out on the ssd when getting my parts together.

  • I'm thinking about getting in on this deal or https://www.ple.com.au/Products/626625/ViewSonic-VX3209-2K-3… this one from PLE. Any thoughts? Not sure if I would rather the extra size or it being ultra wide

    • I guess in the end it comes down to what you plan on using it for and what you have already
