  • How do we connect these to a pc or laptop?

    • Both. I use it with a desktop and a laptop. Both USB C.

      • Thanks man

        • +1

You likely need a computer that will output video over usb C (display port over usb c).

(Thunderbolt supports it, as do other usb c standards. Look for DP or little monitor/rectangle image next glto usb c port, or check port specs of hardware)

.. unless it has a hdmi (or mini hdmi) plug input also

      • So this does this gets the power from USB-C? There is no power cable needed?

    • +1

      Either USB C or HDMI.

      • Thanks man

    • can a steam deck power this you think? could hook this up in a plan and get a wireless controller :D

      • Hehe nice idea

        • I will try. May rip through SD power though.

    • To a desktop PC, grab one of these: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005006078577836.html?spm=a2…

They specifically take HDMI output (like a full fledged graphics card), take power from a USB-C port on the PC and run it through to a single display using USB-C.

      • Half the price of the monitor. Or use the included mini HDMI to hdmi cable and power the monitor with a basic charger.

  • +1

    Love mine! Great price.

  • I just got it from $94 sale.
All I can say is, you get what you paid for…it's not exceeding the expectations for this price…
Worse case scenario send it back. That what I am doing.

    • +4

      What were your expectations?

    • +2

      That what I am doing.

      Why?

  • Want to decide between This or arzopa,?

    • +2

Cant say much about this one, but I've been using my 14" Arzopa for the last 3 years, 1 usbc cable, into my laptop or Samsung phone. Little dim, but I think they are all dim. Otherwise good screen, good angles, good colour, no ghosting or burn in after leaving it overnight.

  • Seems like a good deal but I can't work out for the life of me what it'd be good and helpful for. 🤣

    • +1

Working on the go? Maybe you're at a hotel and need/want to use your laptop and need the extra screen real estate.

    • +3

I take between the office and home. Gives me three screens in both locations without a lot of desk space required.

  • +4

So I could use this when I'm at uni as a second screen for my laptop? cheers

edit: reading the ad would have helped. I think this will be very handy for uni, so I've ordered one.

  • Is there a touch screen variation?

    Edit: I see it now, it's $148

  • +2

These cheap portable monitors are good for occasional days, if you were working remotely say 3 days a week, id pay more. They are super light. For this size, a $12 15 inch laptop sleeve from Kmart will protect it well.

    • These cheap portable monitors are good for occasional days

100%. They are not really supposed to be used full-time. Its more for on the go like working at a cafe or at another location.

  • +1

I use this on the go if I suddenly really need two screens or I'm working on something without a display (like an Apple TV or server), and it comes in handy when I need to help someone who's display has broken. According to the link I bought it in May 2024 and I throw the thing in the back of my bag, its gone alright.

Definitely cheap and the cover is a crap material but it has pretty good display, good options for brightness, refresh, and it can be powered entirely from my Mac.

  • Potentially silly question but can these be used wirelessly? I'm wfh 3 days and I love to plonk myself on the couch and just smash out work from there (don't judge 😅).

I'm pretty comfortable doing 80% of my work from just my laptop screen but there is like 20% where a second screen is really useful, would love to have to option to do some of that from the couch via a portable monitor rather than back to my full set up at my desk.

    • It's unlikely unless you have a Wireless HDMI Transmitter/receiver; you would need a Mini HDMI on the screen end.

The screen can be powered via USB C powerbank, which makes the power more portable. Just not the data side of things.

However, in all of that, it can be powered and data can be done via USB C cable. So its just one small cable so it would work.

Not sure how practical it is on the couch though and could be more annoying than what its worth.
