Just saying, it's $2145 after Cashback @ TGG + $100 Store credit if you C&C.

    • Yeah I actually just saw this haha. Even better deal. Mods, feel free to delete my post as it's not the best price out there.

Use TV200 to get this for $1945 after cashback + $100 store credit if you C&C. Is this TV worth that though?

I viewed some TCLs from this range last year. They're very good TVs. A huge step above generic junk from Soniq etc. I'd say on par with Hisense.

      • waiting for 75 to hit 2k

  • Appliance Central have this for $2160 plus $150 cash back and some free shipping in some cities. Maybe an alternative…

I am personally hoping someone does an Xbox one X deal with these TV's, hopefully over Xmas or new years specials.

  • I purchased the 55c2us about a month ago. Returned the first one due to massive backlight bleed right through the panel, almost like it was cracked. The 2nd one was better, but all 4 corners had really bright spots, also returned.

Motion wise, if you are wanting this for sport, look somewhere else. Motion judder was really bad, particularly vertical when watching tennis. Even watching Fate of the Furious in 4k, it was really noticeable.

The picture quality itself is actually really good and vibrant, and features for the money are great, like Android TV, HDR10, Wide Colour Gamut and built in sound bar. In a bright environment, the screen looks good, but as soon as the screen goes black, or you put the tv in a dark environment, it is hard not to pay attention to the backlight bleed.

    • Just out of interest, what did you replace the 55c2us with?

Nothing yet. Was going to get the Sony 55x9300e for $1650 which I created a poll for, but everyone said get something else. I’m going to wait for Harvey Norman to bring the price of the 55N7 down to around $1100 then use my couple of AMEX cards. Will see if that happens

Just an update - I couldn't resist picking up a 55C2US for ~$770 after cashback offer, and I must say it has very good picture quality, as you said. There is very slight backlight bleed in each bottom corner(downside of edge-lit imo), but nothing substantial or distracting - otherwise it is all very uniform. In regards to the motion, it is caused by playing 24FPS content on 60Hz screen. I used a 4K demo video with a lot of camera panning and it resulted in judder (as it was filmed at 24FPS), but setting the Xbox to allow 24Hz mode on Blurays (1:1 with framerate) or playing games capped at 30 or 60 FPS (as most console games are), no judder was evident. Playing the same video on my phone or through an Xbox hooked up to my 4K monitor resulted in the same judder - these devices generally do not have motion interpolation. Unfortunately, this TV does not appear to have any mode to enable this.

        • @IIMurphaII: it was a good tv for that money. I just think has to come down to the quality of the panel in terms of the back light bleed. My second one was much better, but sounds like you got a good one.

        • @johnno1987: Yeah, must have gotten lucky. No stuck/dead pixels from what I can see, either.

  • its only 1887 in TGG - https://www.thegoodguys.com.au/tcl-70-inches176cm-uhd-led-lc…

not sure of the difff in 70P10US vs 70C2US
