Razer Blade Stealth 12.5" 4k Laptop, 512GB SSD, i7 7500u $1899 Delivered (Was $2399) @ Razerzone

170

These look like a great machine. Regular price seems a bit steep, but at this price, if I didn't have a good laptop already I'd be considering it.

Great build quality, backlit keyboard, good performance.

    Too expensive .

    • +4

Fair enough, not for everyone. I see them as Windows version of a Macbook, there aren't many Windows laptops you can buy that have build quality AND feel premium, it's usually one or the other.

      • There are heaps of ultrabooks that look and feel great, with good specs.

I don't know many models off the top of my head, but one trip to a local pc store / JB hi Fi would show you what's available.

        E.g. Dell xps 13

        • +1

XPS 13s are the same price as this.

And what I meant was that, yes, there are a lot of ultrabooks with similar specs and most of them look decent, but it is very rare to get one that looks decent AND has build quality. I'm talking chassis flex, material quality, reliability, warranties etc. Most of the ultrabooks out there need to be babied otherwise you'll break them.

        • @jrowls: you make a good point. I would have to say, though, that the razer blade looks nowhere near as nice as some of the other options, which have tiny bezels, smaller form factor, etc.

To each is their own and I'm sure this is a good buy. Also note I am a bit anti-razer as I've had 3 different peripherals of theirs die after a bit over 1 year :( Never touching them again.

For an ultrabook its actually a decent price given that dell xps 13 with similar specs (worse screen) go for the same price

  • -1

Yea way too expensive, the i7-500u is a lot cheaper, but this laptop you are paying for the touch screen and the SDD which you could upgrade yourself cheaper.

    Not a bargain.

    • +4

Its a damn nice screen though, 100% Adobe RGB

      • -1

And without a dedicated GPU I'll just use paint then haha

        • +3

Why are you negging cause of a Lack of dgpu? You're going to be hard pressed to find any ultrabook with a gpu.

        • -4

@GossipGoat: Cmon man i think it's not a bargain, especially not having no Dedicated GPU, i know its a "ultrabook" but for the same price you could get a proper gaming station that can do a lot better processing then this Razor. Like i said its the cost of touchscreen and the SSD which i would opt to put in my self (the SSD and do you really need touchscreen?)

For this price you basically should just save a bit more and get a much better laptop specs.

Honestly i7-7500U is basically the most standard, why not put the i7-7700HQ instead. So yes Expensive Ultrabook as they usually are.

@GossipGoat: I have a Gigabyte laptop 13.8inch i had the option to get touchscreen at the time, has 4GB dedicated GPU with SSD and 1TB standard HDD, 16GB RAM, plus it was the better i7 laptop option then most standard laptops at the time, all for $1600

Can still do A lot more then the Ultrabook today.

Call me harsh but that's my opinion ;)

Marketing this as a gaming laptop with a 4k screen powered by Intel graphics is a bit much

    • +5

I'd say it's more marketed as a premium laptop, with gaming capabilities - their 'suggested serving' was to use an external GPU, in which case it performs quite well as a gaming laptop.

  • just the price of an iphone x !

  • -4

    Jesus, 12.5 screen, Go blind.

    • +2

It's actually quite handy if you travel a lot, mines 13.8inch gigabyte lol

  • Doesn't have dedicated GPU?

    • nope, you can opt in to get the razer core to bring it up to "gaming" standard

    • -3

What no separate gpu for this price, no way!!

  • +4

This one is the 'old' model just so everyone is aware. The 2017 update packed in a slightly larger 13.3" touchscreen into the same form factor and lowered the resolution to QHD which may be better for performance.

    • +2

New one is also Quad Core i7-8550u vs i7-7500u. But this is still a great price and i'm pretty tempted! Currently approx $1630 AUD on the US site, so $270 for local warranty, adapter etc is worth it for this laptop.

i hope you don't plan to play games on it?

        • +9

You clearly have no idea what you're on about. Your comparisons, mixed with your lack of information and missing intelligence, makes not one of your points valid.

You've negged this deal for not one good reason. Show us a better deal for a laptop with rgb keyboard, 12.5 form, 16gb, 512ssd, under 1.3kg etc etc.

Summary of everything you've said - you can spend the same and get a bigger heavier laptop of no comparison to this one.

On behalf of everyone on ozbargain we are well aware of this, but it makes of no comparison to this laptop deal. You're helping no one and wasting everyone's time. If anyone should buy this it's you, as this laptop is more than capable of running internet explorer so you can google relevant information and educate yourself.

        • +6

@bonjovi: that was hands down the most brutal reply ive ever seen on oz bargain hahahaha

        • +2

@GossipGoat: Yeah bit harsh, but warranted…

        • -2

@bonjovi: Holy crap mate calm down, this is Ozbargain not a school debate team. Sorry if i offended you in anyway with my opinion on Ultrabooks, clearly it was simply to point out i think they are a waste when you can purchase something similar for a lower cost and with more GPU power on the side of that.

If people don't want their time wasted they clearly won't read my opinion, but my simple neg and comparison clearly hit the spot for you? (would you like for me to retract the neg?)

Thank you for your point and yes i do know the differences but that is my love/hate opinion of it, so take it or ignore it :)

I think you should learn to educate someone a little nice-er,not everyone have a thick skin or a Sharp mouth like [@bonjovi], but you obviously have an issue with opinions, stupid or not.

          And

The only time i'm wasting is yours, since you replied back so fiery.

Anyway mate, i will continue to use me internet explorer (when it finally loads) to do more research and educate my self on ultrabooks for ya ;)

        • -1

@theone4u: So you don't have a better deal, or have any factual information to offer. The only thing you still have which has absolutely zero weigh is your opinion which is clearly worth nothing.

Thanks for letting us all know you can purchase something with a better GPU and for a lower cost, a.k.a PC.

  • Doesn't say how much memory it has!

    • +1

      It's 16gb standard
