Sounds like a good deal to me, especially if you're into magazines and don't mind reading them on the computer, phone or tablet.

There seems to be a good collection of magazines from local and overseas. Here's some of the highlights from the Groupon deal:

  • Enjoy unlimited access to 4,000+ Best-Selling Magazines and Premium Articles with Magzter GOLD!
  • Read 4,000+ best-selling magazines
  • Access premium articles
  • Share with up to 4 family members
  • Download to read offline

Could be good as a gift.

  • Their website states "World's largest digital newsstand with over 9,500 magazines". Does this mean you only get access to half of their library under this offer?

    • 4000 publishers according to the Magzter website.
Might be a Groupon typo as it says later on the Groupon page, "Launched in 2011, Magzter is an online platform giving customers a chance to browse, read and purchase over 9,500 magazines from more than 4,000 publishers."

Seems like a good deal. Hope the app doesn't suck.

    • Hmmm, the Google Play store reviews do not bode well. I've paid for a subscription so here's hoping that our experience is better than some of the reviews. :-|

Obligatory reference to free mags at your local library, often via the Zinio for Libraries app.

  • I think the Library Zinio free deal would be similar to this Magster offer, differences being considerably more mags via this offer, and with the ability to download mags for offline viewing (presumably pdf format?) with this offer.

I did a search for a few random magazines on the Magster site. The latest editions of the magazines were not showing up - am I right to assume that there site may just be a little out of date? Or do they not have the latest issues available?

Also with the articles that come up in searches, some of these appeared to be articles found in magazines. Why download an article? Would it not be more useful to download the entire magazine?

Some confusion as I am not familiar with Magster.

  • This is a great price for a diverse collection of magazines.

  • Has all the latest Aussie car mags so I bought it as current physical subscriptions have just ran out. A years worth of reading of local and international for the price of 3 mags - done deal for me. Save those awkward standing at the newsagency moments trying to finish articles ha ha. Thanks OP.

Save those awkward standing at the newsagency moments trying to finish….

Not how I thought you'd be ending that sentence.

    • Save those awkward standing at the newsagency moments trying to finish articles

Please tell me you're at the car mags section for the love of God.

  • Thanks OP, I really only tend to read in bed on a tablet these days, so this looks perfect. As per Aureus' comment, here's hoping the app doesn't suck! :-)

I presume it's downloaded to an app, of which access expires once your subscription ends?

  • Just be aware like a lot of past subscribers have said I ignored it and signed up to Magzter anyway but trying to cancel your subscription is a real pain in the arse and even getting it all done personally via email months before the automatic renewal date they just charge you for another 12 months worth anyway hoping you won't notice. Then you've got to take it up with them to try and get a refund and on top of that wait to get your money back.

Any business that gets up to stuff like this should be steered clear of.

    • Just curious if this scenario apply even when you buy through Groupon? Or is it more relevant to when you buy directly from Magzter?

dont worry with groupon voucher you never give away your CC details to Magzter

  • Cheers OP
