The sale is good for expensive items…for cheaper items shipping kills the deal…I am looking for some Micro HDMI cables but adding $15 shipping doesn't make it worth the trouble…

    • +1

On top of that the courier company they used for my last order is Door-to-Depot (they claimed they dropped an invisible missed you card) and I need to drive like 35 minutes away to pickup, good deal but might suitable for someone who likely to get the hassle.

  • +6

    MSI 1080ti card great price

    • Yep. Its the cheapest in this sale.

    • +1

this is just a refrence PCB.
For a little more id go with the asus or gigabyte one as you get a free copy of destiny 2 and an extra years warranty and they OC to hell

  • +8

A +1 for not jacking up prices.

  • I am so tempted, as I need an upgrade for my new 4k TV. But with the new card coming early next year, I am better to hold my ground.

  • +1

    Why no 8th gen i5's up ??

    • +4

Still in short supply, though i believe the 8350K is up.

      • Don't worry, Ryzen v2.0 should be here sooner than later and they will make these i5's seem obsolete.
I'm thinking slightly higher IPC, higher 4.5GHz clockspeed, 8c/16t, lot's of cheap AM4 motherboards… definitely putting the pressure on Intel.

        • IPc wont be anymore than 5-10 percent.

But the clock speeds if can start at a base of 4.2 then im sold..

Im waiting for zen+ as well like you..
CES is in 3 months im sure we will know by then

  • Do you have MSI GTX 1080Ti LIGHTNING Z 11GB 352BIT GDDR5X?

Any chance you can stock the EVGA FTW3 1080Ti?

    • Sorry, no, not a brand we tend to stock in volume.

    • Steer clear of EVGA there warranty turn arounds is INSANE.

Meanwhile returned 2 gigabyte cards over 3 years got both back in less than 2 weeks.

  • The 43UD79 is sold out. Shame, seems like a good monitor.

    • +2

Pushed more to eBay. We are running low in Brisbane but more stock is incoming.

  • Damn the 43" monitor missed out

    • +1

  • How does it work for warranty? 1 year or 2 year if buying hp 360x , I am in NSw also. Thanks

    • Its Australian HP stock and I believe they do 1 year warranty on the x360 - back to us or direct with HP if you prefer.

      • Thanks, do you sell Mac also with 20%?

  • +1

Bought almost an entire pc system from these fellas. Highly recommended.

  • Hey I think you switched two digits in the title, it's only 879.20$ :)

    • +1

Nah mate, it's because of the $15 shipping fee, making it $892.20

EDIT: Oh yeah, you're right LOL, don't worry about my reply

      • Nope, it was round the wrong way, fixed. Thanks for that. Also had +$15 shipping in the headline to make the shipped price correct for a single buy.

For people not aware - our shipping is $15 per order, not per item (well, except for the free shipping items), so no incremental shipping cost after the first item.

  • +1

What PSU would you recommend for the ASUS GTX1080 8GB STRIX? Thanks!

    • +8

Power consumption (card only) under load appears to be roughly in the 200W region for the STRIX version of the 1080, so if you have a normal amount of storage (4 drives or less) and don't plan to add a second GPU, you should be 100% fine at ~500W, but could also consider ~600W. Staying closer to ~50% load on the power supply will increase your power efficiency by a few percent, which you may or may not care about.

(Assumptions: 1) you're after something from Computer Alliance's ebay store, 2) you only have one graphics card, and a normal number of drives in the system, 3) you place average or above-average value on efficiency)

      • If you're after something on the cheaper side, the Corsair CS550M (80+ Gold, semi-modular) would work, and is Jonny Guru approved, but I'd personally nudge you toward something more in line with the price of the hardware you're buying
      • The Corsair TX550M (80+ Gold, semi-modular) was well-received by tweakpc.de, a non-English site. Jonny Guru has reviewed the 850W model and liked it, so it looks like the 550W has similarly good internals.
      • For something a bump up in capacity, the Corsair CS650M (80+ Gold, semi-modular) is basically the CS550M with another 100W of output. I personally wouldn't bother with the similarly-named CX650 at the same price point.
      • The Antec EA650W (80+ Gold, not modular) is probably fine for a cheaper 650W Gold-rated unit, but doesn't seem to have any dedicated reviews. Antec has a good history with power supplies though, and their units are rarely outright "bad". I would not personally feel too bad about gambling on this if it suited my requirements.
      • The Antec HCG-620M (80+ Gold, semi-modular) is an option with decent reviews, but it might make more sense to go with one of the other models given that there's not a large price difference (the HCG is a bit older than the Corsair models listed).
      • Corsair's TX650M (80+ Gold, semi-modular) should be similarly good to the 550W and 750W variants, and should be well suited to your system if you meet the initial assumptions.
      • +1

        Heya!

Wow thank you so much, you hit me with exactly what I needed! Appreciate it my friend. The PSU's have always been a confusing area for me. Thanks a ton!

        • +3

Do yourself a big favour and get a EVGA Supernova 750W G2. They are under $150 delivered new and come with a 10 year warranty (yes you read that right, that's how confident EVGA is about their PSU). Gold rated, fully modular, fans only spin under load, cablemod easily obtained if needed. One of the most highly regarded PSUs you will come across. If you can afford a 1080, I'm sure you are willing to pay an extra $50 for absolute piece of mind for something so central to a computer.

Plus, 750w gives you more overhead should you require upgrades down the line, and this particular PSU has maximum efficiency between 300-500w which is a sweetspot.

        • @currentfad:

Oh nice, I've never heard of the EVGA Supernova 750W, will defiantly add it to my list to check out. Fully modular is actually a pretty big thing for me, will really have a look at it.

          Thanks! You guys are awesome!

        • +1

          @Zylam Marex:
It's a highly recommended PSU at Whirlpool desktop building section.

  • Store rep possibly losing out on sales because of the incorrect price in the title. It's 879.20, not 897.20.

  • You know you are doing something right when everyone who deals with becomes an advocate :)

  • Oh dear…
I just ordered the AOC C4008VU8 earlier today from you guys because none of the sellers were stocking the LG anymore (at least for a reasonable price). I really wanted the LG but couldn't justify the additional ~$500 (RRP vs eBay discount of the AOC).

Is there any chance you can help me out rep if I request to cancel and reorder?

    Thanks!

    • We are getting orders out the door pretty quickly, but if it hasn't shipped we can cancel with no problem. Send us a message linked to the order on eBay and someone will hunt it down.

You would be amazed how many people forget coupon codes, wrong address etc and need to cancel! Can sometimes be a curse to be efficient when you see a request to cancel an hour after a order comes in only to find its already invoiced and packed into a pallet, or already collected.

We can also take back items that have shipped/delivered as long as still sealed, and sometimes if open, but up to you to arrange shipping back.

Eff my life , just paid 608$ for a strix this morning!! Still looking for deals on a S340 Elite (but in all black) and Asus Rog MB Z270E. If you are keen to help me finish off my build Adam. ;)

    • I am based in brizzy as well so could do a store pickup.

  • Any deals on the higher RPM drives? Or am I find to install games to something like the Reds?

    • I would not buy anything less than 7200 rpm to be honest. Read/write speeds are just too slow.

    • For games you don't play that often it's not a big deal imo. It'll load up the game a few seconds slower, and maybe when you load a new level that's a couple seconds slower too. But if it's something you play regularly then you'll appreciate the difference a little more. For reference I have a split on my own system, with games I play regularly on an SSD, and the other stuff on a WD red (lower RPM). Crysis and Black Mesa don't load quickly on the drive, but it's not frustrating slow or anything, and I doubt it's more than a couple seconds or so difference for most in-game loading that I've done.*

If you want a 7200RPM drive Computer Alliance has the Seagate Barracuda line, and they seem to be priced okay.

*Really large games might see a bigger difference

    • I'm in the same boat atm. looking to replace a 1tb wd black as it just isn't big enough. have a ssd for the os but need something with a better $/g ratio for these 100gb games.

      • My problem exactly. I've an SSD, but the size of games these days is making having more than one or two installed on it problematic. 128GB isn't enough anymore.

    • Believe they are called SSDs nowadays!

      • Try RAID those SSDs

Any chance on some sharper pricing of the Gigabyte Aorus 1080tis???

  • +2

    +1 no price jack

Getting closer to my wallet lol.

Trying to hold out upgrading until ram prices become sensible again… Any idea when?

    • Shortage seems to be getting worse. Might settle down before mid year, but with Christmas and Chinese new year, I am not holding my breath (but we are holding a lot of stock!)

  • "Warranty: 3 Year Australian Warranty & Support"

Mean we can return item to you guy without going through manufacturer?

    • -1

      HAHAH no..
Most tech shit like GPUs and CPUs they will send them off for RMA.

      • sorry, what i meant was can we give them the item for RMA without doing it our self?

was looking at other item like HDD & Monitors.

    • +4

Of course. We hold quite a lot of buffer stock over years so normally swap replacements out of our own stock, then wait for the manufacturer to replace ours!

    • Still needs to go back to manufacturer for testing, can be up to.1 month..

      • +1

We have to send them back, yes, but I would say around 90% of the time we have something we can swap out, identical or similar, right away for the customer, then we just put the replacement back in our RA buffer stock when it comes back. We take the hit on the wait and other issues, custoemr is back up and running quickly.

I know most of the bottom priced companies can't afford to do that nowadays, but we still do where practical.

There are exceptions as we can't always hold everything for 3 years and replacement gear is sometimes repaired which makes it a bit difficult.

Notebooks for eg that get repaired usually have a wait while we source parts and fix (we are a service agent for most of the brands we sell). HDDs though we normally swap out, then when the supplier replace with a repaired unit (which is indicated on the product label as re-certified - beware when you buy new from some of the bottom feeders!) we hold those and use them as swap outs as needed - most of the time we swap with new drives as we often get new drives back. Volume helps us there, for eg when we sell 1000s of those 4TB reds, just in this month, and we can afford to have a batch ready for swap out that we hold for years at relatively small cost.

        • thanks for being so informative!! another question if i buy 2 hdd do i have to pay shipping on both? might just have to buy one HDD for now.

        • @stingyashell: On eBay the shipping is a flat rate per order - $15, but in any case a lot of the HDDs are free shipping at the moment.

  • Any cheap 1440p ips monitors? Cheers

  • Damn it
    I bought HP Spectre x360 13-Ac037tu
Last week at JBhifi for $1438 :(

  • great price for the ROG 1080

  • -2

What's up with computer alliance charging $15 delivery for standard Aus post?!

As futu online and Pc Btye delivers free and if you wanted courier delivery over Aus post with Futu for example, courier then is slightly faster at $12 to $15.

    • +1

These guys are probs the only ones on ebay who doesnt jack up their prices prior to sales… hence the flat rate of $15 total…

    • +2

They charge $15 flat for the whole order. I ordered cpu/ram/mobo/heatsink and it came to a flat $15 which I think is pretty darn decent.

    • +1

We don't use standard Aus Post. We use a variety of couriers.

We try to use Aus post eparcel registered for some residential orders, usually the bulky ones that can't go air, so they can be dropped at the PO if no one is home.

We use Startrack PREM for smaller parcels for the speed, and they can also drop to the PO. We use Couriers please in SE Qld for speed, sometimes same day. We use Startrack Express for road freight/bulky orders mainly to business and sometimes residential - faster than eParcel but no PO drop off….and we use occasional other couriers

$15 per order is well below the average cost of shipping, so we are subsidising most orders and most customers seem to be happy with it.

We have thought about offering a more varied fee and specific options, but simply put, it gets messy and complex both for customers and for our logistics. Instead we have tweaked our system to match a courier type to the location and address type, allow some flexibility, and if you read our eBay feedback for eg, you will see most people are pleasantly surprised at our speed and quality of packing - even during deals like now. We still have the odd issue with people not being home to receive, couriers screwing up etc, but its down to one in hundreds of orders now, about as good as I think its possible to get with Australias courier services.

  • Looking for some rbg trident z 3000 or faster.
    Any stock?

    • Yes, but because of the RAM shortages we have not put them up on ebay.

  • Any idea why I can't apply the PREZZY code in checkout?

    • +1

I have personally seen messages from 3-4 people having issues with the code vrs some thousands of orders where it works.

Only factor I know of that blocks it is if its a overseas ebay or paypal account or address, and note you do need to pay with paypal for the code to apply. Have had a couple of people we have spoken to and can't see any reason it won't work for them. Quite frustrating given it seems to be one in a thousand and can't work out what the difference is with their accounts. Unfortunately we don't have control of their backend systems so no way to see why it fails from our end.

Only solution i have is use a different eBay account if possible.

      • It could be that a popupblocker is preventing the Paypal payment window from opening. It is here where the redemption code is entered, not on the Ebay checkout page.

Any chance you beat Futu on the Asus 1080Ti ?

Hi when are you expecting stock?

  • +1

What PSU should I get for the ASUS GTX 1080 Ti oc and non-oc models? Also, is it worth getting the OC model? Cheers in advance.

    • i got a Corsair AX760 and a gtx 1080 TI. AX760 Should be more than enough. A single card graphics system usually runs up to 550W.

  • got my 1080, fast delivery!

  • Hi Adam,
    Thanks for the awesome deal.
I've made a rookie mistake as a first time PC builder.
Extremely satisfied with my purchase until I realized that MSI GTX1080Ti DUKE is a giant beast of 320mm when GPU clearance on my case is 300mm.

Can I please upgrade to other 1080ti OC cards that are 300mm? My order has not arrived yet.

I'm sending you PM with more details…
    Thanks in advance.
