How many days battery life are we looking at?

    • Around 3 months

      • -1

So slightly better than an iWatch?

    • Might be worth considering getting an LR2032/LIR2032 rechargeable battery for it….

      • Not really. CR2032 is 240mAh, the rechargeable version is 50mAh. So instead of 90 days battery life, you'll get about 19 days.

Good for the planet, but not good for usability.

Also the rechargeable is 4V when fully charged, versus the 3.0V the watch was designed for. May cause problems.

Ah. Good point. To heck with the planet then…. ;-)

$28 shipping to the NT. No thanks.

  • Gah, why no PO Boxes? Don't get roadside delivery here…

    • It’s fine put your Po box in and I’ll get it sorted!

  • So stand alone it does nothing but tell time? No step counter?

    • That's why it's called Echo. It echoes your fitness devices so you don't need to read them using your phone. Apparently it can also control your music.

A bit like a car stereo remote. As useful as an Ashtray on a Motorbike

AUSTRALIA POST-PAR SIGN to SA at $19.16

Darn… gonna sit out this one.
    Was a good deal; nevertheless.

The watch is definitely not worth it. But the bundle with the Magellan 500 is definitely the cheapest it's ever been, and very good value. Hmm… upvote or not?

    • It’s a good deal regardless. Plus we have other deals in the works for BFCM so the vote helps us post again… or else sign up to the newsletter

      • Can't hurt asking; so here goes…

Can you extend free shipping to cover Adelaide Metro too?
        Would be much welcome.

        Thanks

    Ridiculous shipping rates !

    • We are working on more cost effective options… just not an easy task unfortunately.

      • I’m not entirely sure but it never costs that amount to send with reg post for an item the size of a watch. $7.95 is roughly price for untracked. Seems odd for a supplier to not be able to offer better than a lay person buying over the counter at aust post. And if you’re o/seas it should be cheaper. Look at Zapals and gear best. They charge 2c for things with free post.

Hi Rep, just ordered the 500 from you yesterday. Any chance you can retrospectively apply the 25%. Have not received any notification that it has shipped yet.

  • Meh, $19 postage. Good deal till postage gets added…

  • Thanks OP. I know the smart part of the watch is fairly meh, but this was stupid expensive when it first came out. For less than $10 a watch delivered, that puts it into the same price range of cheap & nasty watches sold in markets - but this is a real brand name name watch of decent quality….. even if it's just used as a normal watch it's not a bad deal and makes a good stocking stuffer.

    FWIW - Here's a review for those interested: https://www.dcrainmaker.com/2013/11/magellan-depth-review.ht…

    • Just be aware that some of the apps that once supported it at the time of launch 4 years ago no longer support the device. If you're thinking of using the "echo" function to show your favourite app's information on your wrist, then double check that it is still supported.

  • Thanks OP. The watches arrived today, first one I opened the thing was dead but just inserted one of the fresh batteries included and all good.

    • Thanks for the feedback. We have been sending out batteries because we’ve been alerted to this before. Enjoy!
