  • hmmm should i get this?

  • I'm getting one. Thanks.

  • I'm also thinking of getting one along with a Nokia 2730 however I'm not sure whether I should just go with the HTC Wildfire Unlocked for $299 (or $415 including 32GB microSD Card)…

    Thoughts?

If you don't mind having to carry around 2 separate devices, and have a crappier phone with a better music player then get this and the Nokia, Battery life would be a main advantage too.

    • Target is having 10% all mobile phones until this Thursday. I got my for $243 :) 10% and 10% staff discount ;)

      • Is double team member discount still on? I thought it finished on the weekend?

  • That's pretty decent. Won't get the free engraving that the applestore gives, but if all you want is the device, it's a great price.

    "35-inch (diagonal) widescreen Multi-Touch display"

Awesome find. That's bigger than the iPad. I can't believe apple released this model without any fanfare. Now we just have to get officeworks to honor it - lol.

"I can’t believe apple released this model without any fanfare."

Really? I thought apple is a fruit - lol.

Seriously, leave the typo alone if it is obvious.

      • I wasn't having a go at the poster. The typo is on the Officeworks page.

        Anyway, I +1'd the deal, it's a good find.

        • +9

Don't worry about it dude, many of us actually do understand subtle humour! ;)

        • +6

Good point, I forgot to turn on my sarcasm font. ;)

    • +3

      You know what?
We could complain this is misleading info =P

      • Yep, but nothing else could be done except the complaint.

  • I just did a price match with Dick Smiths
And they gave me an extra 10% off =D
So I bought it for $303.70

    • receipt?

    • -1

Dick Smith don't price match ;)

      • They do sometimes :)

        • -2

Hehe your right - I meant to say was that they don't price beat especially that much anyways.

        • Lol they've been price matching for ages.
          Argument trumped.

      • -1

        They price beat http://dicksmith.com.au/help/price-promise-content

But they don't commit to how many %

        • I've had some people do 5% and some people do 10%

    • +3

receipt or it did't happen :P

    • +15
      • Oh wow and it's in WA!!! I'm off!!!

        • I wonder if we can price match this in a NSW officeworks :?

        • +1

Yeap.. you price match in officeworks. I price match that in DickSmith again.. haha.

        • +3

Don't neg Hirokuro again or, non-members won't be able to see the receipt lol.

        • I tried in DSE Murray St today.. he refused to price match the recept.

He can only beat OW by 10% of the PRICE DIFFERENCE, hence only beating OW by $4!! pfffttt…

I'll try heading to OW tonight, see if they can do anything about it.

        • Yeah, tried DSE Bankstown and they said the same thing, it's 10% off the price difference. That's what they said anyway….

        • Yea, didnt think they would pricematch a receipt, or there possibly could be continuous price matching between dicksmith and officeworks.

Edit: this was meant to be a reply to gamgo5 below.

      • so we can print this and bring it to OW and they will beat it by 5%? or will they just match it? :O

        • They will probably do nothing lol, bring it to dicksmith so they will match it.

        • I would get it at DSE but I have a $100 Myer gift card that I can use at OW. So I can essentially get it for $200. If anyone has managed to price match this at OW NSW could you post a pic of your receipt :D

      • Thanks for the receipt.
Here's to hoping that OW will pricematch this, or at least the Dick Smith in Sydney will.

      • The guy in Officeworks told me they won't price match a receipt, ONLY a catalogue, or website that can be printed out. They also won't match WA for VIC.
Here's their policy- http://bit.ly/dvEMd8 5% of the difference

  • +1

I wonder why they dropped the price?

  • the 32gb are the same price at Target ($337) til wednesday (in SA anyhow). Could be price beaten at OW

    • +4

Ah so that's why, OW dropped it so that people can't price match. Quick bastards.

    • It looks like it's $368 in Target by this ad (?)- http://bit.ly/cdG68v Current or not???

      • There was an ad in saturday's paper for 337…..but just until wednesday….
        maybe ring em up….

  • I'd get this . However I can imagine my library would fill the 32gigs along with a few shows and podcasts…

I'm holding out for a deal on the 64gb.

    • you may have to hold your breath for a long time.

Based on previous experience, 8gb is the version most discounted, 32gb is rare and 64gb is probably a never. The availability for the 64gb is also more limited (not as many store carry it)

The best you can get is probably Big W or Officeworks standard pricing at about 480

      • Yea True. There should be a few xmas sales coming up.. I have a few vouchers :P
However. Not sure whether the benefits of paying another $100 for the 64gb are worth it.

I mean.. id never have to worry about storage..

        • +1

until the next gen comes out for 499 in 128gb form lol

        • whens that next gen one coming out ?

        • september every year,

however in the middle of the refresh, they might lower prices and introduce a 128gb model anyway. depends on sales etc

  • Paid $324 for mine at Good guys :)

    • How? And receipt if it will helps others here?

      • i just talked them down.
Small town and i am a good customer :)

        • +1

Nice tried to get one at my local Good Guys and the best they could do was $335, so got it from Dick Smith for $333.30 instead, and before someone calls me a tightarse, I had to get a printer and some ink from there as well.

        • +1

Lol just realised the bastard at DSE shortchanged me 40 cents… should've been 332.90, I want my 4/5th of an ice cream cone from maccas :(
meh cbf for 40 cents…. but… but.. the ICE CREAM!!!!

  • good price

  • DSE at broadway NSW would only beat the price by $4.00. but great find. will ring around to find it cheaper

  • I don't understand why Officeworks stores say it's sold out?

  • Was nice while it lasted. Price is $356 now!

  • Was nice while it lasted. Price is $356 now!

  • Is the ipod 32g availble cheaper on ebay? Grey import?

  • Jump on this deal. I bought one from JB Hifi for $20 more last week and have hardly put it down!
It is a phenomenal little device. I just installed Teamviewer on it and played WoW just to see if I could.
Gonna buy another as a gift.

  • +1

You guys are awesome, I jumped on this Tuesday or so when I saw the $337 price and I have a 20 minute drive to Mornington Store- who were out of stock of 32gig (and 8gig) As i knew from this site that it was only cheaper due to price match chess pricing.. I prepaid for an order they had coming in- Monday this week: and picked up the order! Plus a Black feather incipio cover which fits it like a glove.
Coming from a 3rd Gen 32gig.. I already had multitasking etc and was running sweet - but I wanted the camera… as I use this as primary device with a Huawei e5832 prepaid mifi or Virgin mobile wifi router thing as they call it ere.
What has blown me away about device aside from fact its alot smaller than in the hand than the previous generation…
And while the camera is awesome to have (but obvs being around 1 megapixel not 5 megapixel iPhone 4)
What blew away is the retina display. I know its not as good as iphone 4 but its pretty damn close and fonts especially make it look like a different operating system.. so skinny and clear resolution fonts!!!
Anyway $337 for this versus pretty much $1k for a 32gig iPhone 4.. im loving this device (as i have with previous generation)
$25 a month TOTAL phone and data.. for heaps of internet with virgin and use an old but not that old sony ericsson with telstra nextG long term prepaid deal..
Thanks again for deal.. glad i took advice that it would go back up in price… as the smart pricing analysts said ere!
Luv the A4 processor too.. Agreed @ shenlong73 for $337 32gig is the bomb. @Raz Ebay prices didnt look near matching this, let alone all the issues that come with ebaying such a purchase. Thx OzBargain
