Quality AA battery charger recommendation

Somehow I managed to lose my fast AA battery charger. Despite having loads of AA batteries I've never used a professional battery charger and I think the one I had started damaging my batteries. I don't mind the COTD $15 Eneloops getting stuffed as much as I do about the Sanyo Pro series I have. Can someone recommend out of personal experience (not web reviews) a good one, preferably one with battery conditioning. Thank you

Some usefull info will probably be found in old posts.

    Nitecore D4 Charger

    • I don't think the Nitecore shows mAh which is an issue as you have to guess at how good your batteries are. To me a charger has to have this ability.

  • +1 for Nitecore D4. Funnily enough just got mine in the mail today!

      I received mine yesterday!

So far I've managed to resurrect a twelve year old fully discharged Sanyo AA NiMh. My dumb charger refused to charge it so finally decided to upgrade.

      • I believe. (and don't quote me on this) that the D4 is newer? I know the I series doesn't have the display which is a feature I am enjoying so far!

    • Looks solid. So i guess the discharging function is the one that they call battery (re)conditioning? Does anyone know what is the difference between d and i Series?

Checkout the LiitoKala Lii-500 also, I have both the D4 and Lii-500 and prefer the latter as it can charge 4 slots up to 1A simultaneously, it is also an analysing charger.

    • Mind if I ask how much you purchased yours for and where from? It looks like prices have gone up and now at nitecore C4 levels!

I got mine from GearBest when they were selling for $21 AUD because I had a stack of GB points I ended up paying ~$14 AUD.

According to BudgetLightForum the place to buy is the official LiitoKala Store on Aliexpress for $21.66 AUD bare charger then buy your own power supply (wall adapter with Australian pins) just get a generic one with these specs 12V 2A DC 5.5 * 2.1mm connector, positive polarity like this

I got mine on ebay for $3-4 but it wasn't really 2A as when I tried to charge all 4 slots at 1A it would switch off, so got a refund and bought from another seller same price and that delivered full 2A.

I recommend the Liitokala too. Its a cheap and good quality charger. Does everything a Nitecore can

I have been happy with my Opus from GB https://www.gearbest.com/chargers/pp_193401.html

  • Found a new contender on ebay:

PALO Rechargeable 16 slots LCD Smart Battery Charger for Ni-MH Ni-Cd AA AAA Bay Bank

16 sluts! Awesome for $59. Have no idea how reliable the units are.

    • Sounds very appealing 😋😝🤔
