Don't forget about free postage for sending care packages to the troops

    • +1

That's available all year round if I am right.

Which troops? Are we still in Iraq? Have we learned nothing?
How many people did we kill in Afghanistan? - and two weeks after we left it was back to how it always was.

The troops are not heroes in a war of aggression.

        Well this deal escalated fast.

        • +3

Don't mention the war. I mentioned it once, but I think I got away with it all right.

how many terrorist attacks did they prevent putting their lives on the line for our country.

        • Can't tell if sarcastic.

          Thanks for the reminder Honeypooh.

        "The troops are not heroes"

I opposed the Vietnam, Falklands Afgani and Iraqi attacks on both moral and legal grounds, but could never understand that while N.Z. welcomed its volunteer troops back from Vietnam, some deplorables in Australia deride the conscripts who were sent without choice when they returned.

I'm of U.K. stock. We had a period where the army ran the nation and decided who they would fight.

It didn't turn out well, and was even worse for the Irish.

Be careful what you wish for.

Did you mean large on the second one?

    • +2

Cheers mate. It was large indeed

        That's what she said.

  • Don't pay anything if you send your card by email. Why help pay for some Quango's CEO's bonus?

  • +2

This is the normal price. Why is it a bargain?

    • +2

Only once a year, normal price if you're a senior IIRC.

JV questions so many bargains because he is either stuck on a mysterious island or 112km under the sea at any time… not sure how time dilation affects inflation but from my experience a price increase from the early 1900s tends to offend.

          stuck on a mysterious island

you are correct on that point.

    • -4

JV your are right on 2 points.

      1. Its normal price
      2. Its Austpost - no bargains here ever.

Next we'll have a post where some think that getting your mail in a week is wonderful.,

And BTW who sends greeting cards now?

      • +4
        1. Well for those who wants to pay the higher normal prices, you’re more than welcomed to.
        2. Well it seems that there has been few bargains posted on here in relation to auspost so I guess that takes ever out of the equation

Is getting your mail or your ozb purchases in a week not wonderful?

Not many people send greeting cards these days but there still are so if they are, I reckon they should be aware of these cheaper prices. Wouldn’t want them to pay to pay the higher normal prices.

        • You tell 'em, OP!

  • Awesome bargain, never heard of this before.

    • +1

It's been around as long as I can remember. But less people post Christmas cards now, so of less interest.

      • Actually you're right, I do remember now. Usually I don't buy stamps so I am learning.

      never heard of this before

  • AP has standards and wants to charge extra for slightly oversize cards but don't fall into that trap. For small and "largish" cards just stick a 65c Xmas stamp on it, don't ask. It will get delivered, albeit in the usual Australian snail mail timeframe.
