Does Anyone Know Where to Practice Golf for Free?

I've got about 100 golf balls in total and was thinking about going to the local oval for a some practice (PW and SW) but noticed they had a sign strictly prohibiting golf on the oval. I understand this is because it can be extremely dangerous and takes divots out of the grass. Does anyone have any tips on where I can play? I live in Adelaide so if there are any fellow Adelaidians that know a quiet local oval that allows it, it would be greatly appreciated.

Some public golf courses ( run by council) have a small driving range where u can practice and pick up ur own golf balls, for example Hurstville in nsw has one, small area which is around 100 metres

If not all golf courses have cages to practice

    • Oh great I might have to email a few courses and find out

    • small area which is around 100 metres

so, good for practicing your pitching wedge and thats it

      • It's free, can't expect much

  • Please don't practice your golf on public ovals…. they don't have fences/netting to keep the golf balls from flying out, and could have people walking on them.

    • I wont be, all of the ovals around me prohibit golf being played on them and I would never play when there are people around.

Why would you bother to practice a game developed by Satan with the sole intention of frustrating and humiliating your fellow man???

A bloke near mum and dad used to chip out into the water, then go and retrieve the balls from the flats when the tide was out. He lived on the waterfront though. Us kids collected quite a few of the balls at times and may have driven them out as far as possible and into the deep on occasion.
