Good morning all!

Just found a great way to use up your QFF points and happy to share with you guys.

Until 27/11/17 you can save 25% off eligible products on the Qantas Store using coupon code 25OFF17.

This gives you a conversion rate of 0.867 of QFF points. Still ridiculously expensive, but for anyone who has the points to burn it could be a good way to spend those points.

Discount applies to points value only on eligible products.

Join the club… they stole 150k of mine by a technicality (change of my business accounting, I still flew with them every month), and didn't care when I complained…

I've never flown with them since (unless I absolutely have to), thieving b-stards…

And they took the expiry date off their statements and online accounts, and they stopped sending me paper or email statements for no reason, and they changed the expiry to 1.5 years without telling me while I was working overseas…

…yet I see them with points giveaways every week but they won't help me, who flew twice a month for 10+ years. T-ssers, never again!

That's rough. I'd be devastated. How far did you take it?

        • Through a few levels of phone and email folk… They eventually "opened an investigation" which had me hopeful, but then after a week just literally "Sorry the points are expired." I rang again, even mentioned it at the airport, nothing.

I was genuinely assuming it'd just get sorted out, just an annoying mistake, a few button-pushes… I was so shocked they didn't just reinstate them!

I mean, I have a FIFO team of 15 people I buy tickets for, we were all decent status, Lounge/Club members… and they just did not care!

I used to literally feel loyal to Qantas, was proud to support Australia… Now my whole team just flies whatever is cheapest…

          /Rant ;)

          @nuchalis:

Well done for giving it a good crack. Yes I am quite loyal to Qantas too. After flying with them for work pretty much exclusively over the last few years I appreciate their service. I'm reasonably on the pulse to changes so I am pretty sure I'd be OK, however if something like that happened I'd likely be in the same boat as you.

FYI I still usually use price match for Jetstar fares for other family members, while I'll pay the normal price for status credits.

    • Call them up, they might offer you the points challenge. Something like 3000 points in 6 months, from at least 2 different sources to reinstate your expired points.

Call them and I have to earn 2500 points from 2 different sources in < 6 months.

      • Wow, lucky you! Who did you actually call? I wonder if they've changed something, if I could maybe have a chnce if I tried again (even though it's been at least 6 years since I lost mine)…

I called… guy was very helpful, offering suggestions on how to get points.

  • Since I’ve populated the world with two kids

I can’t accumulate enough points for 4 business class PA

So if I’m going to fly camel class, might as well buy it on sale

  • Thanks just bought this!

  • Thanks OP.

Bought the switch and Mario Odyssey earlier today with the big w price match and Harvey Norman amex deal.

I wanted mario kart 8 too so checked out the qantas store. 12,900 points and $0 after this discount - not TOO bad so I got it as I have some points stocked up.

I know the true value of points having flown business class to Paris last year one way for 139,000 pts and $165, however I can’t afford a holiday now (more to the cost of the trip than just the flights!) so why the f**k not “waste” the points now.

So that’s a Switch, Mario Odyssey and Mario Kart 8 for $336 and 12,900 qantas points today. Not bad :)

    • Legend Of Zelda Breath Wild is 12547.5 pts after discount.

      is it worth it?

      • I didn't even see Zelda on there! I got that too.

No it's not the best use of points, but you're still getting something out of them.

If you're planning to take a holiday soon I would save the points for flights, but if not, do whatever you want with your points.
