Best Country to Set up PlayStation Account

Hi guys,

I am a new PS4 owner (thanks to Black Friday).
When setting up a new PSN account, I noticed that the pricing in US is often cheaper than in Australia.
After comparing US, UK, Japan, Indonesia and AU PlayStation Store prices, I find that Indonesia seems to have cheaper prices on games.

For example, the PS Plus is around $28 for 12 months, and the Uncharted 4 is only $15.
They currently have a bundle of Destiny 2 and 12 months of PS Plus for $60.

Do you think it's wise to set up the account in Indonesia or am I missing something here?

  • I still think USA is even if Canada and a few other regions can be cheaper, USA flash deals are pretty insane. 6 month old games for 20AUD

    • I find their ps plus is the same price?

  • Is it easy to buy indonesian psn cards online? You have to pay with currency from whatever country you set the account up in. So either an indonesian credit card, or indonesian PSN cash.

    • I think PayPal is available in all of them?
      I forgot to check this.

I think for paypal you still have to link it to a local funding source?

    • yeah, its easy.

offgamers got you covered. they charge 10% GST but you can avoid that by using a US VPN.

      Indonesian PS Plus

      Indonesian PSN Giftcards

      • This is awesome! Thanks man.
So you reckon Indonesia is cheapest?

North Korea? Get all the games first …

    • I heard all the servers there are closed, and you can't opt out as the mods don't read queries.
Was also told that you only get one life, no respawns… which doesn't sound very fun.

You can set up multiple accounts on the same device, download games from the different regions and play on your main account.

Still need to know which ps plus to commit to

AU. Less dicking around. The 'savings' aren't worth the hassle unless you strictly buy from the one region.

    • Username checks out…

  • Its wise to setup the account in Indonesia for PS Plus only. Game discounts are not good always.

    Indonesia for PS plus

AU for playing the games and earning trophies.

USA/Canada for buying games. I use both depending on the offer. Canada is cheaper most of the time as dollar conversion rate is 1 CAD equal to 1 AUD most of the time. They offer same games on discounts, the prices vary a little. US offers the best price and with PS Plus, you can get even better deals. US ps plus is going for $39.99 (AUD $52) while Canada PS plus always goes for AUD $50 even though the price increased to $69 in PS Store.

You can set all the accounts as primary ps4.

      Thank yummycoot
Just a few questions to clarify:
      1. Do you miss out on Us ps plus special price/free games?
      2. I don't understand your last sentence, are you saying that Canada increased their ps plus price? How can I get it for $50?
      3. In us ps store, ps plus 12m is us$59, where did u see it for us$40?

        1. Indonesian PS plus do games vary sometimes. They didnt get Life is Strange because you know.

        2. Yes, Canada increased their ps plus price just like Australia and USA but PCGameSupply, an online retailer sells it for the old price

        3. Amazon has it for $40

        • Does amazon sends the ps plus digital code?

I have to say u must be ps expert.

        • @boohooimissout: yes, they have instant delivery and you redeem the code on ps store. They send you instructions as well. They are very swift.

Haha I am not an expert, just two years on ps4 experience that's all.

      • So it sounds like best to go psn plus in Indonesia; then get the us or Canada psn plus for a month every now and then when they have great deals on?

Would one need a great internet connection when playing online e.g destiny 2 online etc?

        • I think if you really like us ps plus, maybe just get that one.

          I don't play destiny, so I don't know

        • @boohooimissout:
I don't play it either but I like to try the games like destiny (gonna try it now with its current free trial til the end of year) or other similar offers.

        • @KeyHolder: I think it's a good game if you like fps.. I played Destiny 1, but it is very difficult to team up, and that turns me off.
Basically in D1 if you team up with high-level player, then you level up quickly. If not then it is a shitty game.
