  • Is this 15 YO bottle or the 105 Cash Strength bottle?

    • If you follow the link, you can choose either.

      • Ah ok, I can see it now. Wonder which one is better, I already have the 105, and it's a very nice drop.

        • I've only had (and currently have) the 105. Every time I've thought about trying a different one (10, 12, 15, 17, 21, 25) I keep just choosing the 1L 105 again. I'd personally prefer a selection of the younger age statements than one bottle of 30yo for that price…

        • @Trosticles: Better value for money as well, Cask strength. I'm trying to buy Cask Strength these days :P. I do agree with younger age statement vs 30yo. I have tried the Talisker 25yo, i would get a few bottle of Bruichladdich instead.

        • @od810:
That's my reason for choosing the 105. Great value and can be "watered down" a bit (as opposed to adding a few drops of water). I'm sure the 30yo is very good, and it's nice to try different things, but I don't see the value in spending that sort of money on any whisky.

  • Shoulda gone to Specsavers. 105 not 15yo.

  • Bonuses are not really $160 value on the Glenfarclas.

The 105 is available at Nicks in one litre bottles for $105.

    The 15YO 700mL is available for $99.99.

  • I had a bottle of the 30yo that I share with a mate for our 30th birthdays. It is a very nice drop and I die a little inside every time I think of what happened to the ~3rd of a bottle we had left that was stolen and likely mixed with Coke.

We picked it up just under 2 years ago at Dan Murphy's for $350 in store, when their website was advertising it at $450. Very soon after it went up to $750, which it is still at now. The 105 is occasionally on sale for $105, so essentially you're paying $485 for the 30yo, which is closer to its old price and isn't too crazy. You'd be hard pressed to find a 30 year old single malt for cheaper.
