25% off Selected Styles of OrbitKey Key Organisers

110

Just got an email from OrbitKey, they’re having a 25% off sale of selected key organisers for 24 hours. I bought one when they were on Kickstarter and love it!

A bit of a tip, if your not spending over $50 or don’t want a monogram you can buy it through their eBay store for the same price but free freight, if you use P5OZZIE you’ll save another 5% too!

  • It's not on all of them is it?

    • No, just on selected items. The one I wanted to get my partner for Christmas was on there, so I was pretty happy!

Rushfaster has a similar deal but on most items.

Just a note from personal experience.

Though the leather ones look the best, I will not be purchasing another leather one due to the rubber edges on them peeling off just after a few months of use.

    • Do you have the orbitkey 2.0? The corners don't look rubber?

      • Yes the OrbitKey 2.0. It's definitely a thin rubber film them apply over the edges to cover the lighter coloured inner material.

        • If you contact them they will probably send you a replacement band, this was supposedly a defect with the original manufacturing process (Had a free replacement sent a few weeks ago).

Hope you're doing well. Thanks for getting in touch, and so sorry to hear you're having issues with your Orbitkey. And thanks for letting us know too!
The leather straps are constructed from 2 layers of leather, with coated edges to seal it and give it extra strength. It looks like you may have received a faulty one - the paint layer is not bonding well with the undercoat (protective layer). More than happy to send over a replacement leather band over to you.

I bought mine from the 2.0 Kickstarter and there are a fair few comments indicating that they received replacements as well.

Just thought I'd check in. Like I'm reading has happened to several others, the side-paint of the leather band on mine peeled away within the first month. Now that it is all gone, it generally works reasonably well. The locking mechanism does occasionally get loose or get very very tight.

@Steve - Hey Steve, thanks for checking in, and for your feedback. We did encounter some issues with the leather bands, but have since fixed this problem. We're more than happy to send a replacement parts over your way! Can I trouble you to send us an email + photo to [email protected], and will get you looked after.

        • @eecan:

Not sure if it's an actual defect, it's just cheap rubber-type paint peeling off the edges that is supposed to cover the different layers of leather etc. - happens to all cheap watch leather bands.

It's there on both of my OrbitKey 2.0's, I purchased them off their site at around $50 - not off Kickstarter.

Edit** Thanks for the extra info, I'll be emailing them to see what they can do - Given that it is just a small piece of cheap quality leather with a decent screw locking mechanism that costs around $50.

good thing I bought a $10 one from Aliexpress then. I really wanted OrbitKey but can't justify price

      • Yeah, was thinking it's a bit expensive for what it is.

    • Really! I’ve had mine for about 12 months now and it still looks brand new! I even got the full black leather one with black hardware and the black hardware doesn’t even have any scratches on it. I 100% love mine, hence why I just bought one for my partner in the blush colour and why I posted it here!

I recommend these to all my friends.

      • well, now we have conflicting info. Does yours have rubber on the edge like matte1 described?

        • I would describe it as being finished like a good leather belt on the edges. The one I have is the second generation, the same as the current one in this promo.

        • @Poss81: cool. they really dont want me to buy one, I wanted black with black hardware or espresso, both not on special!

        • @rexii2300: Damn, that sucks. The black one is a limited edition at the moment, so guess it’s understandable.

      • Yep, it's mainly caused by the metal rectangular hoop with the orbitkey engraving as it slides around. it started peeling from the fold where it normally sits.

Strange… I've had my black leather/brown stitching 2.0 from the Kickstarter and the edges barely show any wear. only a tiny bit at the top where it folds over, sides are still black.

Anyway, I also highly recommend these key holders. Mine's still in great condition, carry it everyday in pocket with car keys & coins.

        • @chubbygeek:

Probably because mine sits in my pocket for the whole day until I get home, mix of wear and humidity etc.

It's not exactly high quality materials used in the first place, though it is currently the best in the market just because of its locking mechanism.

  • Already jumped onto the key-bar wagon.
