This is making me want a PS4…

From the product page:

A LARGER-THAN-LIFE ADVENTURE

Experience the wonder and majesty of one of the most acclaimed and beloved video games of all time, now on PS4 and PS4 Pro.

Helmed by Bluepoint Games, the emotion, intensity and beauty of Fumito Ueda’s original adventure has been given a staggering makeover. With improved visuals and enhanced performance, every epic moment is more breathtaking and memorable than ever before.

Set on a quest to bring a girl back to life, your task is to bring down 16 gigantic beasts. Armed with only your wits, a magical sword and a bow, venture out into expansive landscapes on the back of your trusty steed and seek out each Colossus. But be warned – while each giant has a specific weakness, finding and exploiting it will be far from simple. A thrilling mixture of exploration, platforming, puzzle-solving and action awaits…

A good game, but I'm not going to buy it a third time.

Don't buy yet - it will be cheaper closer to release date. Retail is $54.

  • If people still have a PS3 they'd be better off getting the Ico/Shadow of the Colossus combined edition (unless this had added content/is remastered etc)

I'm sure I've read somewhere that this is not a pure remaster in the sense that they've added a new optional control option (more precised/responsive compared to the old floaty Team Ico-esque control in the original PS2 and remastered PS3 version)

      Edit: source here https://www.polygon.com/e3/2017/6/14/15800206/shadow-of-the-…

  • I was under the impression this is to be a remake and not a remaster.

Those few cents could go a long way!

  • I have never played this game, but from all accounts, it was amazing the first time around. I just hope this remake/remaster is identical to the original. Will buy it when it comes out.

    • I think that's for the people that played on ps2. I bought the ps3 version and it felt like it was missing something. Controls were pretty finicky too.

    • See my comment above, from what've been annouced it seems apart from the original remastered game, there will also be an option for a more refined control scheme.
As for the game itself, I love the world and ambiguity of the story (more so if you've played other Team ICO games such as ICO and The Last Guardian).
I think the concept for the game is that there is no grinding and small fries enemy to drag out playing time. You go straight to the Colossi (the bosses), each of them unique, well designed and require you to work out how to beat them.
I'm sure it's not for everyone but if that sounds interesting to you, give it a go.
On the downside, I spend ages getting lost in the worldmap, that wasn't fun.
I still have the limited edition PS2 version, skipped the PS3 but will probably buy this one.

It's 22 pounds delivered from Base.com for reference, so ~$40 AU.

  • I thought this game was release already.

  • It's running at 60 fps on the pro too, Never played the original so keen to get this

  • I will probably wait. I bought the PS3 from PSN when it got down to about $18. I might do the same again.

I didn't have an issue with the controls but I'm not going to complain if they make them better.

    I will miss 3D, though.

  • I already have the game on PS3 :P

  • Aguro! where are you whistles!

  • The power of Grey..I have the p..oh its just my shining sword pointing to the next beacon to go to….well its beast slaying time! 7th February 2018

    PSN Digital copy $54.99

  • Got it on PS2 and then PS3 and will on PS4, honestly one of my favourite PS games and a classic to me
