The Shimano CM-2000 is a high-performance action sports camera that is easy to use, streamlined, waterproof, dustproof and features image stabiliser technology. The CM-2000 is ANT+ compatible and can also be paired with GPS devices and Di2 units.

The device has an advanced auto-record feature and can be set to start filming when you hit a certain speed, power or location on your ride. This means you can focus on riding without having to hit record, battery life is improved and editing footage takes significantly less time.

Data-linked recording

Start recording without touching any buttons! You can link the Shimano sports camera with various ANT+ sensors and wireless units and pre-set it to record the scenes you want to capture without having to hit the record button. For example, you can tell the camera to record when you are riding at over 45kph or when you’re putting out more than 800 watts. There are 6 types of linkable data:

Speed – i.e. capture aggressive riding on a downhill
Cadence - i.e. record riding on a super steep hill at a low cadence
Heart Rate - i.e. start recording when your heart rate is high and you’re on the limit
Power – i.e. record a fast acceleration when sprinting on the flat or up a climb
Di2 – i.e. record when in a certain gear position such as in a big gear on a fast descent
GPS – i.e. record on a specific road with a great view
Each type of linkable data can be customised within the Sport Camera App on smartphones. Auto-recording is simple to use and enables you to capture great footage while riding with having to press the record button when the camera is in hard to reach places such as on your helmet or saddle rails.

High-performance

The CM-2000 records at 1440p at 30 frames per second (2.5k) as well as High-definition and Full Hd, all of which offer superb picture quality. The camera performs extremely well in low light conditions such as on the road at dusk or when riding off-road in forests with thick vegetation.

Performance

Image stabilisation

The CM-2000 can be mounted on your handlebars, saddle rails or helmet. Image stabilisation technology helps to record sharp, vivid images even when the road surface is uneven or when you’re riding out of the saddle.

Waterproof and dustproof

Waterproof and dustproof performance means the camera is robust and doesn’t require any protective case. A water repellent lens protector also means rain drops and wheel spray flow off the lens and won’t affect the quality of your recording.

Editing and ANT+ overlay

Shimano’s camera editor is available for Mac and Windows devices. Because the CM-2000 has ANT+ connectivity, data from various ANT+ sensors can be overlaid on the video. The auto-record feature means there is often less editing required as you don’t have hours of footage to look through.

Sport Camera App and Smartphone Compatibility

The CM-2000 can be controlled via the Sport Camera App which is available for both iOS and Android devices. You can check the view point on live view, configure shooting conditions and check recorded videos.

Thanks for the post. Been looking for an action cam for over a year. Couldn't bare to throw down a few hundred, even if it was a great product, I wasn't sure I'd use it. Also, didn't want to buy some knock off ones that records like crap. Quick preview looks great. Not a brand known to be out there with action cam market. However, can't really beat this price. Quick browse in the WWW comes out still $200+. Once again thanks for the post, and honestly it's an impulse purchased either way AHAHA!

yeah that's really cheap for an action cam that can do garmin overlays as well i think. jbhifi had this a while ago and sold out FAST.

but don't miss the fly12 at pushy's for a 10hr battery and integrated light, $249 now and discount codes are offered every 2nd week (so around $220)

this only has 1.2 hrs of battery life, so you need to get a top tube bag and put in a battery pack with usb cable for any kind of ride worth recording.

    • The battery life is great for the fly12. However, being a MTB rider, the times I'll be recording will be intermittent sections. Again, the helmet mount is a plus, don't know about the fly. Can I stress that's it's $90!

  • this has to be some pricing error. so ordered 2x. i'm not a greedy broden but i'll flog the other off for a few hundred bucks.

the quality of this is probably better than the fly12, so for scenic rides, and when wanting more overlays. i'll go with this.

    • No it's not pricing error. This camera has been selling around $100 mark for few weeks now. Its advertised in Black Friday PBK email deals too.

oh damn, now i don't feel so good about buying two ;)

        • Recording time lets it down combined with a 4hr recharge..

  • Hmmm, I need an affordable action camera to record my wedding ceremony alongside a Samsung Gear 360. I guess this would work?

yes, especially with heart rate function overlays.

can be lodged as evidence in divorce proceedings.

      • Gotta be wearing the HRM first okay and set it to auto record once your heart passes your normal ranges. It's quite a useful function.

      Best of luck.

  • OP, only if it's relevant for anyone else. Can you edit the ad for 1440p recording at 30fps and 1080p at 60fps. It's definitely worth the extra selling point in my opinion.

  • App reviews are not good for previous model? As insular also mentioned 1.2 hours battery life is not ideal.

  • Thanks OP. I added 10+ item to use $20 Amex cash back using PayPal

  • so is the the "BRAND10" code valid for all shimano products or only selected ones…ive never used pbk before…anyone know?

When I used Google to search "brand10 probikekit" I ended up here: https://www.probikekit.com.au/voucher-codes.list
There's a button on that page next to the voucher code to reveal the products that the voucher code is valid for.

      • cheers mate…that page will come in handy as i do intend to order from pbk at some stage

  • Keen to purchase buy can't find a price or store that carries the replacement battery (CM-BT01) :(
