Where to buy clear protective plastic that comes on small electronic devices

Several months ago I bought a pocket wifi. Like lots of other devices it came with a piece of clear plastic to protect it's face and screen. The plastic was supple, and stuck to the screen, but without having any adhesive on it. It has mostly peeled off now and is no longer soft. Meaning it now catches on my pockets when I slip it in, and it's impossible to keep it in place to protect the screen.

Does anyone know where I can buy this kind of plastic so I can use the old piece as a template to make a new one?

  • why don't you just buy some clear sticky tape then? since that kind of plastic will fall off.

    • Tape has an adhesive that discolours plastic and never stays only under the tape, making it awful to touch. Obviously I realise it will come off - since it is why I typed this post - LOL. But it stayed put for a few months before beginning to lift. So I wouldn't mind changing it every few months.

  • Use cling wrap like Asian parents do?

I hope you realise they're not meant to be left on the device once you start using it…

    • You don't 'have to' remove them, LOL. I always leave such things in place as long as possible. And I've seen this model pocket wifi with it's plastic removed, and it's screen was quite scratched because it's clear see-thru plastic like glass, whereas the back of it is white plastic. Covering the face again before it gets that way would keep it looking like new.

Why not get a cheap mobile phone screen protector and cut it to size?

    • Yeah, good point, thanks. :-)
