Universal Remote for Fan

Hi all,

I bought some of these fans and had them installed. But the electrician has no idea where the remotes have gone. Probably stayed in the box and got thrown out…

Wondering what the cheapest replacement remote is that will operate all the functions? From eBay or Ali or? I think the remotes are RF but I have no idea what any of that means.

Thanks for any help.

  • Tell the electrician he is liable for new remotes as he disposed of them.

Alternatively ring Aldi number tell em the box didn't have a remote in it and they should ship you one free (as it's an installed item) or if your to honest would sell you some.

    • Tell the electrician he is liable for new remotes as he disposed of them.

Is he? No way to tell if OP misplaced them or if they were even in the box at all. And if they were left in the box, and the electrician offered to remove the cardboard boxes, was it the OP or the electrician's responsibility to make sure it was empty?

      • Yeah I agree with that sentiment

    • Thanks I'll ring Aldi and see if they can send some and how much. I know the boxes came with remotes because I did see them at one stage.

  • +1

Buy a universal RF remote from ebay and see if you can get them working.

My question to the electrician would be, assuming there you don't have a a wall control unit, how did you test that they worked?

    • Thanks I'll look for some. The electrician hooked them up when doing a bunch of other stuff and had to come back a week later for more stuff. It was on the second visit he went to test the fans and we couldn't find the remotes. So yeah :/

      • He left an untested electrical appliance for you to use for a week? Sure chance of stuff going wrong and it just likely wouldn't work if it did but still :/…

Edit: do you have the instruction books as aldi usualy puts remotes in a bag with them…

  • if you go to Bunnings the remote comes with the receiver that's why they're so expensive.
If you can just buy the remote from ebay you need to know the reset and learning procedure. I just put in some mercator fans all you do is turn the fan on at switch then hold a remote button down for 3 seconds then your good to go but if it was a generic remote I'm not sure if it would work all the keys.
    Mercator state A million unique
    device IDs enable independent
    control of multiple fans within
    close proximity

    Good luck
