Possbile to sign up to Two No Annual Fee Amex cards?

Hi fellow Ozbargainer,

I have a question regard holding multiple Amex accounts, browsed through the forum but couldn't locate similar post.

Basically I am a low credit card spender who only use Amex for its offers, so the Explorer/Edge combo doesn't really suits me. Currently I am holding the no annual fee Amex velocity escape with a few supplementary cards. I am wondering do Amex allow another no annual fee card under my name? Has anyone done it by apply for Amex essential or Qantas discovery card and of course add supplementary cards onto them?

Thanks in advance.

  • I just signed up for the Velocity Escape myself and got approved. I hold a "no annual fee for the life of the account" DJs AMEX (normally $99) so not sure if that counts for anything

  • I've never heard of any combo of AMEXs not allowed, they just won't give any singup bonuses. Go for it I say.

  • Not a problem at all – it’s exactly what I did.

  • You sure can do this. You're allowed to have 2 AmEx credit cards and 2 AmEx charge cards to your name, so having 2 no annual fee credit cards is completely legal and allowed :)

  • Thx guys, I think I will pick the essential card as second. Shame that Amex stopped application bonus two months ago, I should really have applied soon :-/
