This is an awesome price for this combo, easily beats even grey prices. I dare say its the best price its ever been.

Currently Ryda is out of stock, but they confirmed with me you can order it and they should get more stock next week.

Or you can price match it at Digidirect (which I did successfully). JB Hifi rejected my price match YMMV.

This is what you get below:

  • Panasonic DMC-GX85 camera (Grey or black)
  • Panasonic Lumix G Vario 12-32mm f3.5-5.6 Lens
  • Panasonic Lumix G 25mm F1.7 Lens (Bonus offer) NOTE: you must claim this by the Panasonic website WWW.PANASONIC.COM.AU/SNAPUPSUMMER

the price may be good but I don't recommend this camera bundle, lens is rated f3.5-5.6 which is way too slow

    • +1

      Too slow for what?

      • +1

Fstop. But this is a kit lens

    • +3

Whats wrong with f3.5-5.6 for a kit lens? All kit lenses are like this, and this lens has the benefit of offering a wider wide end and compact size. You really think you can get a constant f/2.8 lens at this price point and at this size?

    • Couldn't disagree more! Shooting in most day time conditions, even with f4 or so, I'll still be at 1/1000s or there abiuts - that's plenty fast!

For a super small pancake lens with super fast AF this little gem is lovely to carry around - personally I keep the f1.7 on more as I'm used to it, but that's just me.

    • +1

As others have said, this is normal for a kit lens, and would be fine for 90% of owners. Good glass is always going to be better, but at a price.
Plus, you also get the 25mm f1.7, which throws your argument out the window anyway.

      • +1

My bad. I didn't see the 25mm f1.7 lens is included. Decent deal then

  • +1

Pretty amazing price considering 4K with an in body stabiliser you can use with adapted lenses. Would make a good B camera.
I guess now that the GH5 is out, this range is due for an update, hence the pricing.

    • +2

Pretty sure IS works for 4k video too.

    • +3

      From Panasonic website
"The 5-axis Dual I.S. works in both
photo and motion picture recording, including 4K video"
      http://www.panasonic.com/au/consumer/lumix-cameras-video-cam…

Please don't make false claims unless you have a reliable source to back it up, you are misleading people.

    • The body is very small indeed, this is a weird thing to say.

    • Big compared to what?? This is one of smallest mirrorless cameras.

    • Sorry guys I read too fast and thought this was the GX8 as opposed to the GX85

  • I am planning to buy a CANON M6( https://www.jbhifi.com.au/cameras/dslr/canon/canon-eos-m6-mi…) $935. I'll get 7.5% off from work portal, also have a $100 jbhifi evoucher.With $200 cash back..it would cost me around $573…missed out on wicked Wednesday 5% off…which would've been sweeter.

Sorry to hijack your deal mate.

    BTW Great deal

    • Wow nice price, the M6 was also another camera I was looking at. Enjoy it!!!

      • Old discussion, but just wanted to point out that do take into account that there aren't that many Canon EF-M lenses available. Far bigger and better range for Micro Four Thirds.

        • Yep m43 is spoilt with lens, I wanted 25mm, and have 3 different ones to choose from.

        • +1

@bruc3: Indeed, M43 has a pretty good selection these days. The best ones are of course pretty expensive too. Looking at the EF-M selection, there isn't really that much to choose from. Even if you were willing to pay big bucks. And yes, you can fit normal EF lenses with an adapter, but my understanding is that the autofocus perfomance suffers somewhat.

  • Amex users: Do not forget Amex's Digidirect Spend $300 save $50 offer, save a further $100 more with 2 cards via split payments in-store.

Thanks OP for the nice find and price-matching info!

  • Quite a lot of lens I looked at were also out of stock but available in 72hr. Seemed bit odd to me but price for bundle is good.

  • Killer deal with the prime included. Cheers for the heads-up.

  • Is the image quality better than my trusty 3.5" Floppy Mavica?

  • I've always been a canon slr user (currently 80d, 5dmk3) but this Panasonic is fast becoming one of my fav in the bag camera with fantastic video…. The only thing I hate about it is battery life…

  • Thanks again for posting the deal and apologies for mistaking it as GX8, grabbed myself one, price matched at JB for $730. And got 7.5% gift cards too

    • Which JB you go for the price match?

  • Expired now since the price increased to $763.96 after the discount coupon.
