Quality Mens Trunks (Underwear) at Reasonable Prices?

Can anyone recommend a brand of good quality mens full sized trunks without spending a fortune?

I tend to find most either start falling apart at the seams or just become really loose after a few washes. I've tried spending a bit more on high fashion brands with similar results.

Happy to spend up a bit more than the norm if they'll last more than a few months.

Give Uniqlo Airism a try as well. Best and most comfortable underwear I have worn for a while. I believe it's around $15 a pair.

+1 for the autism airism (autocorrected lol), it's like "wearing nothing at all" but quite supportive for the plums

        +, yep, I thought they're usually around $10-$12

        I have a dozen pairs.

They're thin and won't last more than a couple years. Which is a good thing since us men tend to hold them until them forever

Apparently we're suppose to throw them out after a year… pfft I still have a few 7 year pair which I wear in winter since they're thicker /quality

        • Impressive that you have undies are few years shy of being a decade old!

    • Dang I thought the airisms were on sale for a sec there….

    Costco.

Gets 3 Calvins or Hugo boss for $30 or $35, respectively.

  • sloggi (a triumph brand/UK)
    pompea (Italy)
aldi - not sure how long they last, but very comfortable. they will definitely last more than a few washes. the other 2 brands I mentioned will last years, unless you do something very wrong when you wash them.

  • Thanks for the suggestion guys.

No Costco membership and CK I purchased a few years were disappointing so will try the Uniqlo and other brands suggested.

      No Costco membership

      time to get it

  • I was a member of KNOBBY for a bit over a year which was $20 a month and they send you a different style. Only thing was that some months I hated the style and I found $20 per month for underwear to be a bit excessive after I got over the fad.

    Mosmann

    • +1 for Mosmann. Just received a 10 pack from the recent 40% off sale. Perhaps not the best to buy at full price but wait for a sale and get a few of the lux ones.

Target has Maxx. They are great.

    • Personally found this brand to be hit and miss. Last trunks I purchased were really flimsy. Whilst the compression shorts I've had for a while are still going strong.

I'm pretty fat, so I need the bike short style undies to prevent chaffing, years ago I used to buy Jockey underwear, but at $30 a pop they are expensive, and the fabric would wear and tear in only a few months, so pretty expensive and non-lasting. Then I went to Kmart and got their Alpha undies, $8 each, last years, and much better. Completely recommend Alpha. Also love their socks, much cheaper than Bonds but just as good.

  • Tommy hilfigger are pretty good;they range from cotton boxers to boxer briefs and the tighter trunksetc. Best place to get them in Oz is usually on catch

  • Aldi had a special on a week or so ago $6.99 for a 2pack, bought a few pack for my son, he says they're quite comfy

  • Anybody tried the K-Mart men’s fit trunks? I’ve seen a million times but I’ve never been game to bite the bullet. They look alright?

  • grabbed 6 trunks for $10 off asos. seems good quality

    • That's really cheap per pair! Have a link by any chance?

        Here and here

DEPENDS ON YOUR SIZE. It says minimum 2XL but I bit the bullet as I'm an L and it fit well enough considering the price. I went for 4 packs of 5 for $44 delivered to get free shipping. I used gbp for lower prices.

        • Thanks for the links and advice. Might take a punt given the price.

        • @cheepo: they have free return policy also

      • ASOS is great! They have some good gear there. And they are always running deals. Sometimes sizes are hit and miss though just got to be quick.

  • Heard good things about SAXX….but not reasonably priced, might be one to watch out for sales.

  • What about Bonds?
Half price at Coles until end of Tuesday.

  • If you have problems with them becoming loose, don't buy 100% cotton. I've also found that bamboo cotton, though very soft, doesn't hold it's shape that well.

I like Jockey Performance (can get trunks or midways, which are slightly longer). Particularly good for summer. Not super cheap, but you can find them on sale from time to time, or maybe a factory outlet.

Uniqlo Airism are also good, though I'd say a bit less supportive. They're thinner and feel of lesser quality, but I haven't had mine long enough to comment on durability. Good value though.

Ethika are also comfortable, and have longer legs than most. No double front panel though, if that's important to you.

I have some Bjorn Borg's coming from Sportpursuit which I'm keen to try out.
