Ordered a LG TV from Bing Lee eBay 20% Deal. 3 Weeks since Order and No Delivery!

I'm starting to get a bit worried here. Maybe some of you can help?

I ordered a LG T.V from BingLee eBay with the 20% of deal last November 24th.

It's been 3 weeks and I still haven't got the T.V. I checked eBay and it said expected delivery 12th-13th Dec.

I've got no confirmation that the T.V has been sent. No tracking number. Nothing!

BingLee took my money 3 weeks ago and have sent nothing. How does a T.V take 3 weeks to ship from Sydney to Melbourne?

I'm not happy and if I don't get my T.V by tomorrow I will do a charge back and and make a complaint against them.

Is this common practice with Bing Lee? What should I do? What are my rights?

I will do a charge back and and make a complaint against them.

Have you contacted Bing Lee via eBay yet? This should be the first step before making a charge back or a complaint (e.g. negative feedback for the seller).

Hello. Firstly I must apologise for the inconvenience caused by this delay. I certainly understand your frustration and will check what has happened to the order. Sometimes during busy Christmas/sales events orders can slip through the cracks but if you bear with me I can find out the issue and help you get your TV for Christmas… Can I grab more details of the order so I can get onto it right away.

That, above, is a possible result you may get from Bing Lee if you actually contacted them instead of OZbargain as posting here may be of little help.

Good TV at a hot price. Give it another week then get onto BL and if still no good go for cash back.

  • As per the above comment.

1 - Contact Bing Lee through eBay and ask them why is it taking too long.
    2 - Wait a day for a response.
3 - If no response then contact eBay to assist.

Usually eBay will handle it and will force the seller to refund if the issue is not resolved by a certain time.

Exhaust all your legal options first before committing to a charge-back.

    Cheers

What if they were sending it today in overnight shipping? It'll slot perfectly into the timeframe that they've given.
And really, give it a few more days before actually complaining or doing a chargeback. It doesn't always work like clockwork.

Exactly. Plus the 13th hasn't even happened yet..Lol I usually give companies a week longer ESPECIALLY due to Christmas.

    What are my rights?

You have rights to contact them and ask them first.

    • I wish they would have taken the fifth.

I checked eBay and it said expected delivery 12th-13th Dec.

It's not the 13th yet. What's the problem?

    • +2

Correct. And IIRC eBay doesn't even let you request a refund for 'Item not received' before the estimated delivery dates

You haven't contacted them yet and you say delivery is expected today tomorrow, that's expected, it still may some days after.
    Contact the seller and ask.

I had the same issue with Bing Lee with an ebay sale, but for an air conditioner. I contacted them via ebay - they apologized but gave no reason for the delay and called me a few days after the email to arrange delivery. All up it took them 4 weeks to deliver.

  • Hang on. I have contacted them through eBay this morning. No reply as yet but I will give them time.

I'm not worried as PayPal will refund me no matter what happens.

It's just that no one would price match that eBay sale. The lowest I could get was $150 more dearer than eBay sale.

But why does it take 3 weeks to ship a T.V from Sydney to Melbourne? Why are they taking orders when they don't have stock?

No matter what happens? May I suggest you request a refund after it is delivered tomorrow. Very kind of PayPal to offer that service.

But why does it take 3 weeks to ship a T.V from Sydney to Melbourne?

Because you're not the only one buying stuff from them online, and your TV isn't the only thing they're shipping out?

But why does it take 3 weeks to ship a T.V from Sydney to Melbourne?

Didn't you read and agree on the expected delivery date in the item description before you finalised your purchase?

if the sale stated delivery 3-4 weeks later it might be because they are trying to get a higher QTY to get a promotional price from the supplier.

    What should I do?

Start a post on OzBargain, definitely.

  • It takes 3 weeks coz you're not their only customer. Settle down & wait until the 14th.

If it's any consolation, I ordered stuff off Aliexpress which always takes around 2 to 3 weeks to arrive, say around 20 days. On the most recent occasion, it took 43 days. Right at the outset, the order details said delivery should be within 42 days, but by the 41st day I was getting impatient and thought it was lost for sure during shipping. Opened a dispute on day 42. Day 43 the postie delivers it!
