          5ms is fine for gaming….I have an LG 5ms 24" purchased about 4 years ago…..no noticable blur at all!

      Just called up the shop, they have confirmed the cashback will be extended to the end of the year. Acer website should be updated shortly. HOORAY!

        Also the terms state that you need to PURCHASE before this end date… You have 14 days to claim the cashback after date of purchase.

    • Yeah I'm still waiting for my 'cash' card, and it's been 2 or so months now. That's why I hate these type of cash back deals. Even worse now, it seems.

    • I got one of these a few months ago when they had a cash back offer. Even though it said they would send a cash card, they sent a cheque. Claim was easy enough but it did take some time.

    • From how i read it, it looks like it a gift card that you need to activate once… then you can use it like a normal eftpos card.

    What a bugger, i bought one on October 25th, 1 day before the cashback started, i don't suppose they would honor it anyway.

    its not a bad monitor, the speakers suck though, my old Chimei 19inch's speakers were half decent, but the speakers on this model are next to useless (be it via HDMI or 3.5mil). And i still prefer 16:10 screens instead of the fake feature of 16:9 (whoopdidoo i don't have any black bars when i watch a video on it, unless its a movie in which cause it does because its different ratio, but instead i have more of my wall to see, and less desktop space).

  • I purchased a ACER 24 inch last year when they had the cashback. the cashback never arrived and i filled out all the appropriate forms. Problem is that there is no way to chase it up.

  • Title says full HD but can't see any reference to full HD on the website description?

    • "Max Resolution 1920 x 1080" = full hd

        We can make the concession that if you do want to pickup from a store, you can purchase upto TWO.
        If you want it delivered than it is limited to 1 unit.

  • Can somewone compare Acer units with the Dell and tell me, if they are comparable good?
    Normally the good bargains on Dell were on 23" LED. But still, if Acer is any good?

    would you mind confirming the dead pixel warrenty on these? I spent some time hunting around and found this on acer website,

    so if i understand correctly, if there are 3 or less dead pixels outside of the middle square it is not eligible for a return?

      I have to agree with you… not the easiest thing to find.

      Yes that how i read it too.
      If there's 1 in the centre square they will replace it but there has to be 4 or more outside that square otherwise.

      • if there is one on opening of the monitor wouldn't that be DOA or defective unit and you should get a replacement, cause it definately isn't what you're paying for.

          If you do have a dead pixel on opening, we're happy to replace it within 7 days (DOA) :)

  • When does this special finish? I'd like to grab one, but in the middle of renovating, so I don't have too much room to put things.

  • I've just setup this monitor and the colours/contrast are terrible. I've run through a few tests images and I just can't get it to look good! e.g. with this test http://www.lagom.nl/lcd-test/white.php I can only see one set of squares! My Dell I can see all 12… Probably a bad idea to compare it side to side with my U2311H…

    • hmm Im sure its a great monitor in its own right but might be a little lacking when compared to your other one. Bit worried now, was thinking of dual screening this with the dell 2405/2407 - How do you reckon it would look next to those?

    I had a look at those squares and can see all the squares on the first 2 rows and the first set on the last row (i.e. 200 - 251 is visible)

    • Could you please post your settings for us to compare? i.e. brightness, contrast, sharpness, colour modes/values, etc, etc. Thanks =]

      • Hey Jaxx,
        I just tested it in-store and I've got same results as TonyRancid.
        Please make sure that the Driver based Gamma Correction/Brightness/Contrast controls are all default. These tend to totally screw the output of any monitor.
