Seiko Watch, Opinions, Recommendations and Thoughts

I am looking to buy this Seiko watch, it looks pretty good. I want to get myself a gift for Christmas and this is what I'm looking at.

Thoughts anyone?

All comments will be taken into consideration. I am not a watch guy, I currently only own one watch.

If you live in the Bronx and love Gucci styled products then this is the watch you have been waiting for.

Wait for user watchnerd to find you a deal. Never pay RRP on a watch.

    • dmed him b4 he a bit busy atm but thanks for ur opinion, im not buying it rrp, i got ANZ rewards and have enough to get this watch with my reward points :))

While you might not be using physical cash but you are still paying RRP. You could have gotta a cash rebate or other things like petrol vouchers using the points instead.

        • thanks for the output i will also consider that

        • @KaTdt3R looking at gift cars i can only redeem around $325 dollar worth with my vouchers, i think its best to buy the watch

Plenty better looking seiko watches for better price. Definitely keep an eye on starbuy to have a sale. Bought a few watches from there. Hassle free every transaction.

  • awesome. i would even buy this if there is a sitewide ebay discount.

Go into bricks and mortar retailers and try it on, watches can good look in photos but seeing it on the wrist can be totally different.

If this is only going to be one of two watches, think about how this will match with the outfits you normally wear. This one is pretty dressy and will only go really well with suits. If you want something a little more understated and versatile, it’s very hard to go past the well known SARB033 but you’d have to order from overseas and wouldn’t be able to try it on first… https://www.seiyajapan.com/products/s-sarb033

    • it looks nice but i already got a silver bracelet watch, i am however want to switch things up and wear this watch on special occasions, for when i go to a fancy dinner with my mrs, in addition i do like the simplicity of this seiko watch its very eye catching and appealing.

Gold is a bit much for me, but I like the black with rose gold here or here.

Also check out Starbuy, they are generally very competitive on price and have a good range of the top brands.

    • thanks ill have a look, im just a watch newbie looking to see what i can get myself for Christmas :))

Not really something for me but if you like it go for it. You know the brands good and it will last.

Currently the cheapest I can find for the SNE406P is $450 and Make an Offer and code P5OZZIE should reduce that.

I suspect the day may come when that look would not suit you. Here is a substantial Seiko Le Grand Sport Solar that will always exude masculine refinement …

    US$119.94 + US$6.63 = US$126.57 Shipping =~AU$167.37

… same size, same technology, same dial design, different colours and strap, at a much lower price. If required, changing the strap should be easy.

Looks and style is subjective OP, but personally - this watch even has the black and yellow stripes telling you to stay away.

    I second:

    1. Going into a brick and mortar store to try on the watch first;

    2. Checking out StarBuy - they have some very nice watches for very good prices; and

    3. Again, please consider another colour scheme!

(Honestly though, get what you like looking at - you'll be looking at it more than anyone else!)

  • If you can afford a watch with titanium bracelet and sapphire glass, it would be nice as those materials last long. Starbuy is an authentic seller (I asked from Seiko Australia). Therefore, you can save some money buying from them with an Australian warranty. oops I dont think they have this in stock, according to their web site.

  • Currently $383.20 here.
