Kitchen Couture 2000W Induction Cooker $39 (RRP $229) Delivered @ DickSmith

190

Waiting for a bargain on an Induction cooker after buying a fryer from this deal. Just found this in TB's newsletter, full credit to to Deal Hunter again. Definitely not worth RRP of $229 but $39 for a 2000W Induction Cooker seems to be a bargain with free delivery. Apparently, the free pot is a crap but the lid could be fit in handy to my new Tefal frypan :) .

Would this save more on energy bills than using gas stove?

      NO

        Meh, thanks.

    • +2

      YES. if you've got solar

Ta, I am getting a Sun from Bunnings now.

In WA gas costs half as much as electricity, but only half as efficient as induction so same cost.

In winter, use gas, and in summer use induction to reduce cooling/heating bills :-)

Cooktops are not expensive to run. You only have them on high for short periods.

    • It would save on your gas bill

  • Read the product reviews - a risky investment.

    RRP is laughable lol

Dick Smith is being dodgy again. The RRP is laughable and deceptive.

Kogan you fatso, get serious with your deals.

    • It's $10 cheaper than Kmart, includes free delivery, and includes a 26cm pot. That's not a serious deal?

      • +5

No, Kogan claims it's RRP is $229… which is deceptive.

        • Sure. And that's a good reason not to buy from them. But it doesn't affect the question of whether it's a deal.

Fat-Shaming? Really? Lucky for him he was not black, gay and female with your attitude eh?

In other words - complain about his greed if you want but his weight should be irrelevant.

      • +5

But you are comment-shaming me? He won't see or care about my comment as I said it behind his back, but you on the other hand have comment-shamed me right in front of my face! And now all my OZbargain friends and haters will see it! Then they'll laugh, and I'll cry! Then you'll laugh!

Yeah, fat shaming and calling people "retards" seems to be second nature on this forum. Pretty sad…

        • Why? I find it hilarious and entertaining. Maybe if you remove stick from colon, you'd see the brighter side of it too!

        • If your worried about your weight, go on a diet.

I can't believe you'd PC-shame someone on these forums! Just because you benefit from having the privilege of knowing all these new-fangled PC terms, doesn't give you the right to look down on and condescend to others like this! For shame!

    pity no timer

RRP is laughable, but I have seen this very model in action and it worked well and they've used it a fair bit.
Not a bad price and I'd pay it personally.
Just used the $10.00 voucher they gave to people who missed out on the case fans recently, so $29.00 shipped is well worth it.
Thanks very much for the heads up.

  • Why aren’t they 2400w?

    • 2400w is a challenge as manufacturers have to allow for the fact that people with older houses or many appliances will keep tripping their power board if the wattage is too high. I can imagine this and a toaster would do it or this and a hydroponic setup.

    • Domestic power points are rated at 10A = 2400W. Above that requires expensive rewiring of new outlet from meter box.

      • I know, so why arent they the full 2400w…?

        • Misread you comment - likely to meet overseas (Chinese?) maximum power requirements for domestic appliances. For maximum world sales, need to design for lowest maximum power requirements for largest markets, not just Australia.

Anyone know how noisy it is?

Can it maintain a simmer or does it cycle between full power/off?
