  • Why would I want to give my stuff away for free Zinggg… :P

    Trading Post seems pretty much dead nowadays, and filled mostly with rip-off dealer ads in the categories I searched; gumtree.com.au is much more active, and carsales.com.au for cars. Telstra/Sensis were monumentally stupid to pay $636 million for it back in 2004 (I said so at the time).

  • site sucks

    • It's a little better than it once was (a few years ago), as I recall it.

      BUT it's got a VERY SHORT TIME-OUT period, so if you want to compose some compact, persuasive text (eg, in the description), BE QUICK or be prepared to do it all over later…

      On that basis - since my time is valuable - I will vote this deal NEGATIVE, it NOT a deal.

      I agree, that Gumtree is MUCH better all round. (Of course, it has its sham operators, too;
      and I recently saw a warning to vendors, suggesting that you can get calls round the clock,
      presumably cranks…? He didn't suggest turning off the mobile phone to preclude such calls
      becoming disturbances. :-/

  • In Brisbane you get 5 lines of free advertising in the Saturday Courier Mail all year round…
