$59 a Month for 20GB Offer from Optus Delay!

Hello peeps,

I saw the offer from optus here on ozbargain on 9th of December, picking up the Huawei mate 10 pro and upgrading it from the current $100 a month GS7 Edge plan that I had started on march of 2016 (new phone and saving 40 a month on phone bills so why not), I was on temporary order number till the Tuesday of the 12th where I pushed them to put my order through which they did. Now its Monday the 18th and I'm still processing and waiting my order to be delivered. Has anyone got this problem?? I'm afraid my delivery will not arrive til past Xmas.

  • I preordered a note 8 with optus and the phone didn't arrive until over a week AFTER the phone was released.
    It has been over 3 months since and I am still trying to get my original contracted sorted out with them.
    I don't know what else to say besides good luck?

      All i can do it wait.

      • I availed the offer instore on 9th December. This is exactly the reason why I always sign up for phones in-store.

    • When did you order it?
      They might have more stock of the Iphone 8 than the Huawei cause they said that they dont even have any phones in the warehouse atm :/

        Ordered last Monday, turned up on Friday. Wouldn't surprise me if they have been inundated and there might be delays though. Its the best deal I've seen in a long time.

        I went to their online chat and they confirmed I would have it by xmas.

    I ordered mine through optus chat 7 days ago. initially they told me 2-3 business days but when i contacted them on Friday they told me it would be 3-5 business days. I didnt even end up receiving a confirmation email from optus but received the phone this morning

    Exact same problem here. Ordered the Mate 10 Pro on the 12th with a stated 2-3 day delivery time. Now told sometime this week but no real indication of when.

    What's really frustrating is their site says it's in stock with free express shipping which apparently is next day if ordered before 1pm.

    Wish I'd ported out and then could have picked it up in store.

    • We are both on the same boat, Thats why I picked the mate 10 pro because its the newest one and it did say it was available. How disappointing.
      I guess ill just wait past xmas to get mine.

        I was assured this morning by the chat rep that it would arrive this week. Fingers crossed they weren't just trying to shut me up.

        Don't really care but would just like to know so I can temper my own expectations!

        • @qwerty2459: It gets better…just been told that if I change address I'll essentially go to the end of the queue to be allocated a phone. If it doesn't arrive by Friday I wont have much choice but to change the address as no-one will be in the office to take delivery until the second week of January!

        • @jimjames: I did this yesterday as well, my office closes tomorrow and i'm confident now that it wont make it so i changed the address to my home address. I shouldn't have gotten this phone if they didn't have it in stock, but then again they didn't say it wasn't available.
