Sengled Pulse Solo Smart LED B22 (Bayonet) White Light w/ built in JBL Bluetooth Music Speaker $24.89 @ Bunnings was $69

130

I haven't tried these and can't attest to the sound quality but for the price, seems like a decent deal to stick in a shed or garage perhaps so you don't have to worry about moving around a portable speaker.

Note that this is the B22 bayonet connector and not E27. Bunnings do have the E27 version but still full price. Cheaper to get this and buy an B22 - E27 adaptor off ebay

Seems reviews are quite average but that is based on when the product was fulled priced, so perhaps this price makes it better value now.

The Pulse SOLO combines light and music to deliver a compact entertainment system. The Pulse SOLO is an LED light with JBL speakers built into it. Simply change your old light globe to the Sengled Pulse SOLO and you can be streaming music, the football or podcasts all through your lights. No wires and easy installation, the Sengled range never needs to be charged.

  • JBL speakers
  • Controlled through free PULSE app
  • Fits any existing light fitting - E27 and B22 options available
  • No wires, easy installation. It’s as easy as changing a lightbulb!

    Has science gone too far?

  • Got similar, with a wifi camera and speaker built in, usual China post, should arrive by 2019…

  • How many electricians do you need to change this light bulb?

  • this is a really cool idea! i too wonder what the sound quality would be like though. would need to be pretty loud to not sound like absolute balls in a tin shed.

its really only novelty after few hours you will go back to something with more bass imo..might be good for someone in shed who listens to radio not music

Good shower speaker perhaps. Don't need to recharge the battery.

      • I remember seeing a waterproof shower radio years ago, still don't understand the need for music in the shower, good time for a break from that IMO and also an Ozbargainer should be having a short one to save money!

        • If you're sharing house with room mates taking a shower isn't much of a break.

Any smart home integration available with this (motion, window/door sensors, Google Assistant, Tasker etc).

Thinking of putting this in the garage and when the door opens it'll turn the light on and play the soundtrack from nightmare on elm street (or something to that effect).

I think you'd just use your phone's speaker

I just went out and bought one from Bunnings. Tried Spotify via Bluetooth and the sound quality is much better than my Sony Z2. Free Android app allows you to change brightness of LED and volume of speakers. Will probably put it in the guest room or maybe the toilet. For $24 dollars it's a bargain :)

      • oh glad to hear it good.
Actually it would make a good bed lamp.

Does the app have timer to turn the light on? That'd make a great alarm clock turn the light on (maybe start dim & brighten) & play the radio.

        • No timer and unfortunately there doesn't appear to be any way to control the light/speaker through Google Home or IFTTT.

  • They're both scanning at $24.89 even though the website shows one of them at $69 still. So no need for adaptor just buy the one you need.
