I'm struggling to find any good reviews for Thai Airways.
When you're talking about 20 hours (x2) stuck in cramped seats with poor service and rude staff, I think I'd rather prefer to pay an extra $300 for Emirates or Qantas.

It's been about 5 years since I've been on Thai. When I have been, It's always been great Asian hospitality, attentive staff and impeccable service. Food options were good, They would continuously walk around the cabin offering snacks, fresh fruit and drinks throughout the flight (not bothering you while you sleep). I have not had that soft of attentive service on Qantas and I've never flown Emirates so I cannot comment on their service.

I flew this exact route Jan -> March this year and the service was fantastic, I cannot fault it whatsoever and would certainly recommend. I'm also 6'2 and found seats were fine, and no worse than Qantas or Emirates.

My only gripe would be that the aircraft used for both legs are some of TA's older ones and so the entertainment systems aren't as high res, and cabin noise a bit louder. Not a deal breaker for this price IMO, and recall that TA were upgrading their fleet at the time so this may no longer be relevant.

Wow. Considering Thai used to regularly get rated as one of the top service airlines, that is quite a demotion!

    • Dude this is Ozbargain, not Oztosser. Anyone who says they're willing to pay $300 more because their fragile sensibilities aren't being adequately catered for are on the wrong website.

      • Dude, bro, brah, try being 198cm and sitting/squatting in a broken, tiny, uncomfortable seat for 8+ hours. I've done this a handful of times travelling around South America and Asia, and it's never been a fun experience. So because I can afford to pay $300 for a little extra luxury I shouldn't be using a website that regularly saves me hundreds of dollars on consumer items?

At the risk of everyone here hating me…anyone done a flight of this length with a circa 10 month old?
