  • $51.99 per case of 24 for me…

  • It's $51.99 @ DM NSW - perhaps the special is in a particular state?

You may want to add store in the title Gavin as well as location such as where you are in South Australia.

      done

      • and add Dan Murphys to title for the cursory glancers.

  • In SA it is $38.95 but in NSW it is $51.99 as stated earlier :(

this isn't Coopers Pale as OP posted at the top it's the Traditional Ale.

    • It’s the same recipe as the pale ale but as it taste different they called it a traditional ale

      • how can it taste different if it's the same recipe? the proportions of 1 ingredient at least have to be different

        • +1

Maybe it's the effect of the aluminium, I'm only repeating the information Dr Glen Cooper told us when I heard him speak last year.

        • @nivag01: fair enough. seems random. but good to know

        • +2

Pale Ale is Bottle Conditioned, Glass is chemically inert (or very close to), Aluminium is not.
It's long been suspected that Dr Tims was just Pale in a can, they look identical when poured, but the taste is distinctly different.
Interesting to head straight from the horses mouth that they're the same.

Glen is also against rolling your Pale for the record. (at least he was 15 years ago when I saw him speak).

        • I can second that, he did say it was the same at conference in SA last year.

        • @OzyBe:

Rolling took off when beer (profanity) thought it was cool. Anyone who makes beer knows you don't want the sediment everywhere!

  • Used to drink these at the Big Day Out many many years ago

  • $48.99 in WA

  • I've seen it in NSW previously. I'd purchase the Storm Pale ale from Aldi, which is cheaper and better than the Coopers Pale ale.

    • no booze at aldi in SA!

      • It'll come. They had to meet strict licensing deadlines in NSW.

  • Superior Pale Ale @ ALDI everyday low price $33

Alas no booze sold @ ALDI S/Aust.

  • As a dedicated Pale Ale drinker i tried Dr Tims once, i thought it was pretty gross. I don't know how it can be the same recipe but if the Dr says so, I'm glad I don't drink beer from cans (or anything else) if the Aluminium changes the taste that much.
Wait, does coke taste different in bottles and cans? I don't drink that either.
