Weetbix 1.12kg - 99 Cents Per Box (past Best before) FoodWorks Maidstone VIC

90

I was in Foodworks yesterday and they have pallets of Weetbix 1.12kg reduced to clear. Apparently, they are past best before but hey it's just wheat in a box, so they'll probably have plenty of life in them yet.

About 3 or 4 pallets available so back up a truck and make an offer :-)

It is not only wheat but processed wheat. That is why it has expiry date.Better to save on medicine than this.

That foodworks is the worst haha

    • Tile damage on floor. Bad lighting. Shelves that look like they have seen better days…in the 70s. Hah.

  • i thought it is not allowed to sell expired stuff.

once i bought something from Woolworths that was expired and asked them to reduce it but they told me that they are not allowed to sell expired stuff and they threw that in the bin in front of me.

      It's not expired …

"Best before date" is different to "Expiry date"

  • Best before date… OK to consume.
Use by date… do not eat.

    • No, it's:

Best before - can last for a few more years.

Use by: can still consume after boiling and nuking in microwave.

      • Yeah best before is like a QA thing like it might go lumpy or a powder would go hard and need breaking up with a fork.

Use by you can still use for a couple days after like milk but by the fourth day it's gooone

      • Pass on your place for xmas lunch… :-)

  • What's the Best Before Date?
    Is it in Dec 2017?

Sep 2017. It's in the photo

      • I see…Thanks :)

      • Oh, yeah so it is ;-) Nice pickup.

  • Not really a bargain if its expired, as its normally just thrown out by supermarkets
