ozplaza.living on eBay

I've been thinking about buying from ozplaza.living on their eBay store but I'm reading a lot of bad reviews on their customer service, especially trying to get refunds or the seller to pay for return postage of faulty items.

I wanted to know if anyone has taken legal/court measures to hold the business accountable?

  • Hi,
I had a look at the seller and on the face of it they have a
    high positive feedback.
Their stated return policy appears to be:
"Returns: 30 day money back, buyer pays return postage."

    • I know what their policy states however this is in contrary to what Australia consumer says. Anyone can make up their own returns policy but it can't be less than the mandated law. If ozplaza living can't abide by consumer law then I have doubts in buying from them. If they sell me a shonky $500 camping fridge I don't want have to pay the money to return it when it wasn't my fault.

Then buy from another store if you're so concerned, there's plenty of variety out there!

Thanks for the advice but that wasn't my question.

    • OP, I don't think this puts them in violation of consumer law. They are offering 30 day money back… but this is if you change your mind… in which case its reasonable that the buyer pay return postage. If the item is faulty you can claim a refund through PayPal & the seller will have to pay the costs.

      • Australian consumer law says the seller, not PayPal is responsible for paying the return postage.

        • It certainly doesn't for a change of mind. For a change of mind the seller is not required to even take the return.

        • Of course but I wasn't referring to a change of mind. Thanks for your comment.

      What's this for?

Go through and read people's comments. I don't see any negative votes.

If you are concerned just buy elsewhere.

Unsure about refunds, but my items were spot on and got delivered on time. I even contacted them after I received the items regarding an add on and their response was pretty quick.

Let me get this right. You haven't actually bought an item, no idea of the quality (which you may be surprised in) but you are already expecting you could return it and if so, take legal action to make this happen.

There are elements that may contribute to the final decision. You question about legal advice is absolutely mind blowing… If you need legal advice before you've even committed to buying an item, for a return you may not even need I honestly feel sorry for Oz.Living.Plaza.

Sounds like a customer expecting nothing but the highest quality items, knowing their budget friendly products and if not happy, you want a return.

I second this. Strange question by OP even before a purchase alright

I've been thinking about buying from ozplaza.living

try bunnings. they love to help.

  • i had an issue with one of the items, and after a few emails, i got a replacement sent out to me pretty quickly! And the replacements had no problems, so might have been just an unlucky batch that i received the first time round

  • i'd ordered from them a few weeks back. Good price & quick delivery. Item quality seems fine. That's been my experience so far.

  • Thanks guys. Like my question said. Given they expect the buyer to pay for return postage, I was asking if anyone had taken legal measures. It wasn't anything more than that. Thanks for your concern.

  • I recently bought a solar sensor PIR light from them. It has stopped working properly about 2 months in on PIR mode (activates but not bright). Contacted them tonight so will be interesting to see their response.

    • They have responded positively to request for help with an offer of a replacement. Happy so far.

  • Got an adjustable chair from them but the joints snapped about a month later. They tried to get out of it by offering me a piddly refund or cover 20% if repair, until I quoted ACL then they sent me a replacement.

  • Brought a sofa from them a long time ago. Within the warranty period one of the spring broke, I contacted them asking if they could ship me a new one. They kindly offered me two offers: $100 to my pay pal or a new chair. I gladly accepted the $100 because it was an easy fix.

  • Hi, DisabledUser244300,
I know this has been some years for your post of this issue. As I am thinking to buy a massage chair from them which is around $1,000.00 and very bulky, just want to know your experience with them . Have you finally bought what you want from them.? And any bad experience with them? Thanks for a response.

    • Lol, DisabledUser means that they’ve deleted their account sometime in the past few years 😉

      • Thanks. I don’t know that. Appreciate your response.

No worries. For what it’s worth, I bought a large outdoor setting from their ebay store for around $350 a few years ago. No issues to report. From memory a courier delivered them to me in a bunch of large boxes.

I'll repeat my previous comment… have a read of the store's past deal posts to see how they went
