Dyson V6 Vs I-Vac X10 Vs Hoover Ultra Light

In the market for a stick vacuum cleaner. It will mainly be for cleaning a small carpeted apartment and occasional car cleaning.

After missing out on the Dyson v6 animal origin (big W - $349, save $180), I looked up Godfreys and saw that these are on special:

  1. I-Vac X10 - ($99.00, SAVE: $200.00) https://www.godfreys.com.au/i-vac-x10-handstick
  2. Hoover Ultra Light ($199.00, SAVE: $100.00) https://www.godfreys.com.au/hoover-ultra-light-handstick-vac…

Was wondering if anyone has any first hand experience with either of these products.

Thanks in advance.

None of these will come close to the Dyson IMHO.

  • Dyson V6 Animal Origin is still $349?

I just picked one up yesterday in store as well.

    • Oh sorry I meant they are out of stock. Called up few stores and they said they are all sold out due to popular demand.

Which state are u located in?

Wanted to see if I could pricematch with other stores like Myer, The Good Guys but they don't stock the animal ORIGIN model :(

      • NSW, there was quite a bit of stock left when I got mine.

Handsticks like the V6 are hopeless for cars, not enough power or run time and too awkward in the confines of a vehicle.

Better off with a barrel vac and hose attachments.

With carpet, they are fine for loop/short pile, but the motorised head will stop spinning on plush pile.

    • Thanks for the advice.

I thought with the crevice tool attached it would be small enough to suck up dust around those hard-to-reach area.

Living in an apartment makes it hard for me to clean with a barrel vac since there is no power outlet located in the garage.

That only helps a little bit and it's still too awkward.

I also thought these things would be great for cars but I tried my V6 and immediately went back to my barrel and hose.

Handsticks are great for hard floors and low pile carpet, I have a small 2 bedroom house and I can do the whole place on one charge.

But for cars and thick plush pile carpet they are hopeless.

  • I'd agree with Scab's advice but I'd also say that Hoover is definitely not the company it once was. Every single Hoover vacuum that I've seen that rellies have bought has been absolutely crap, not sure if the name has been bought by another company that pumps out dodgy quality products?

  • i-vac is good enough
