it was initially expired but then i added myself to the waitlist, and then was able to buy one.
How do you add yourself to the waiting list?
On the amazon desktop store, it's where the lightning deal is. You select the 'lightning deal' tab on the right and there'll be a button there (assuming you're logged in).
It expired for me as I was adding it to my cart, then it said deal is now available to you and had 2 hours to claim. Not sure what that was, but phew!
I joined the waiting list, then it immediately came up! Just complete the transaction at $49!

After 30-45 mins on wait list, managed to snag one! Very happy, especially after it increased to $79 at JB hifi. Be wary, I think you have 15-30s to add to cart then another 15 mins to checkout and purchase.
How do you get notified?
I didn't get notified (not sure how you can change the settings). Just left the page open, sat next to my laptop periodically checking.

@festivalmayhem: Actually the "You've been added to the waitlist etc." text should change and give you are 15-30s prompt to add to cart. I didn't actually receive a notification to alert me, just checked with some time left to add to cart.
I can only see the waitlist option on my laptop.
I ended up getting mario kart after ~10mins in the queue and over an hour for oddessy but got both so prety chuffed with that!
Yesterday Zelda's regular price was $79 today it's $89…. I didn't realise Amazon was Ebay
