That's a lot of macdonalds fine local cuisine.

I have my AMEX and Paypal set up as payment options. Signed up to UberEats a few months ago, but have never ordered anything. But a $50 discount is likely going to change that.

  • Do you have to sign up to uber eats to get the $50?

  • Similar offer in Singapore but can’t find anything locally.

  • do you have any more specifics? do you need to use a new account with new phone number etc? or can i just add my amex to my current account and get the discount?

  • Got it too. I think I will be using Uber eats for the first time shortly.

  • +1

Is that an amex issued amex? or bank issued amex?

    • Amex

      • Can I still use a Diamond Amex card issued by Commonwealth or is it only restricted to Amex?

  • +1

AMEX offers is getting drier and uber dry

    • Yeah, as the bank's dump them due to cost, it will be interesting to see what they're doing in 12 months time.

  • Is this email from AMEX or uber eats?

    • UberEats

  • Thats a great offer!

  • I never get “targeted”

You need to lose money in order to lose more money when you're targeted.

      Google, took 2 seconds, seriously:

Uber Eats is an American online meal ordering and delivery platform based in San Francisco, California and launched by the ride hailing company Uber Technologies in 2014. It partners with restaurants in dozens of cities around the world. Wikipedia

This is a usual tactic by Uber (and some delivery services). If you signed up but haven't ordered anything yet, it will send a promocode to you a couple months later to entice you.

    My promocode history
$50 off, expire Dec 17 2015 (Never used)
$30 off, expire Mar 1 2017 (Never used)

That is more than a couple of months later….

  • Got a similar email. I haven't ordered through Uber eats, but have an account with my bank issued Amex already registered.

What if I have an uber eats account but no amex card linked to it yet. Can i link one now and get the promo code?

    • Interested to know too…

    • I tried but not working

Works for you try it ?

  • I use UberEATS every month or so (and pay with AMEX), just tried the code SGEATSAMEX, and it offered me 20% off 3 orders upto a max of $10 SGD per order. Hopefully it actually works during my next order.

    • Didn't seem to work when i tried putting an order in with my AMEX, may be a singapore only code.

    Got the targeted email.
So I've used this Amex card for previous UberEATS orders.
I tried to add the code on my existing UberEATS account, no luck.
i then created a new UberEATS account with a different mob number and used code/AMEX - still doesn't work.
    that's it eh?

  • who are the lucky bastards that have Uber eats?? lol me sitting here and not even having Uber in my town XD

  • Uber eats boundary is about 500m from home, almost tempting to just get it delivered to a different adress, just need to be there before they get there!

    • You can just order it to that address and then call the driver and let them know you put in the wrong address.
If it's 500m, it's normally not a big deal for them

  • Had the Uber Eats app but hadn't added my AMEX. Added AMEX and used the code SGUBEREATS.

It gave me 20% off my next three orders (up to the value of $10 per order) rather than the $50. Oh well.

    • that promo code (SG) is for Singapore, i don't know that it'll work here?

      • Just reporting what happened to me, in Australia.

        • +2

Just be careful, if you use a code which works but you're not supposed to, they have been known to withdraw the full amount of you credit card (even though you didn't agree to it) and then resist and arguments you make.
This happened to many OzBargainers and most of us had to issue a chargeback from the credit card company.

@idonotknowwhy: Thanks for the tip - I'll keep an eye out.

Otherwise UberEats has tended to be too expensive for me, haven't ordered anything from it. Easier to pick up the food myself and save cash.

        • +1

@AlanHB: Good move. Since I to an inner city suburb, UberEats has been an unhealthy dependence for my wallet and my diet lol.

        • +1

@idonotknowwhy: Yeah I'm Canberra, so driving is not really an issue. I can see the benefit of delivery for the larger (inner) cities though.

  • Just found mine in my Spam Box

    Thanks OP

  • So how does this amex offer work? Do I need to order at least $50 worth?
Or can I order $30 worth and I will get $30 off? i.e. a free meal lol

  • What if I have an uber eats account but no amex card linked to it yet. Can i link one now and get the promo code?

  • edited: seems to have now worked for me!

    • Gr8…u added amex card later?

      • Potentially something to do with the expiry date on my card? When I went to the checkout on UberEats, the credit was applied.

        • Ahh good onya.
But I'm curious if I add AMEX now will it work

        • Best of luck!

        • @electricbluee:

it won’t work it is a taRgetted offer based on the above posters note that Amex sent out to folks who have linked their accounts but not used ubereats before, every invite email contains a unique code.

  • Used UberEATS once a while ago so I assume that’s why it won’t work for me. Wondering why they sent me a code then? Probably to get me to go to the site and hopefully still put in an order when the code wouldn’t work. I actually ended up going through that process. I don’t like their marketing tactics.

  • Where can I find the code?
I have searched the email find found nothing..
