    Belkin protectors are generally pretty good quality for any appliance. I still have some old school Belkin ones running for 10+ years which have never taken a hit, but they do have a decent reputation I think.

    For foxtel/tv. Those cables can be hit with lightning.

      Spot on.

      Lighting or power spikes can hit Foxtel just like your TV antenna can be hit thus wiping out your expensive flat screen and most likely anything attached to the flat screen.

      Bogpond cable modems can also be hit taking out your router and network.

  The wall outlet I want to use it on doesn't have enough ground clearance to connect any plugs to the bottom of the protector because it's so bulky. So I bought a black plastic brick for nothing :(
