Anyone got Beats x headphones? What do you think?

I’m thinking about these.

Look to offer everything I want but beats don’t have the best reputation. Anyone got these? Or decided to buy something else instead?

I want in ear not over ear.
Thanks.

wrong forum. ozb doesnt like beats related questions

  • Beats are generally pretty overrated.

If you're deadset on wireless, maybe look into Jaybird X3s

I think a whole bunch of people claim they're overrated despite not knowing much about them because Dre.

Beats x is quite unique I reckon,
If you compare the beats x to other beats it seems not as bassy
However if you compare the to let’s say, Bose qc35, the beats is bassy
If I was to compare the beats x to let’s say my favourite shure se215, the beats is also bassy
However these pair of headphones as a “beats” are clear in terms of sound quality, clearer than most beats
It has a 8 hour battery life which is on par with jaybird x3 which is a competitor, however if your in the apple eco system, then the beats offers w1 chip which is quite good and convient in the sense of connect.

    I would recommend these earphone
    -if you like bass
-w1 chip and it’s great connectivity with other apple devices
    -fast charging
-lighning connector (plus if your using iPhone)

I don’t recommend these headphones because
    -the long cable
-cable hitting your clothes creating noise when walking fast
-headphone can’t be used with sport or excise
    -bassy compared to other headphones
    -priced higher than competitors
    -inability to adjust cable
-included case is terrible as it catches dust

P.s this reminds me that I own too much headphones/earphones ;(

  • Hahaha. Thanks. So why can’t you use them with sport?

So Jaybird 3 are the other ones to look at?

    • It’s not that you can’t, but it’s just not good.
      For an example
Running, the long cable rubbing with clothes create noice with is uncomfortable and also makes an unpleasant experience.
Shooting basketball hoops, the earphones bounces around because there’s no way to adjust or tightening the long ass cable
It’s also not sweat proof, which the jaybird x3 is

  • Beats have changed a lot in the past few years, especially since being bought by Apple. Buy it from Apple direct, try it out for 14 days and return it if you don't like it; no questions asked.

  • Good Aussie show breakdown of what they are: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GePUXH6X7z0

    • LOL….thanks for sharing this, made my day :)

  • I had the jaybirds… returned them as the quality was awful.
The beats x are far better quality
If you have an iPhone that’s a plus too cause you get some cool functionality linked to an iPhone

You will not be disappointed. They are a great set of headphones.
If you are unsure…. but from Apple direct so you can returned if you are unhappy. (Without any drama)

The jaybirds just didn’t cut it for me… they were were very tinny sounding and the overall quality was terrible (considering the price you pay)

The beats x are great for exercise too (they are sweat proof btw)
And the cable is short enough that it doesn’t get in the way.
