MicroSD Card for Samsung Galaxy S7

I know lots of you guys dwell deep into this MicroSD subject area.

I understand SGS7 is not particularly advanced enough to fully utilise the higher end MicroSD cards in the market.

Rather than spending for something too advanced for S7, I would like to get some recommendations from ozbargainers.

Size I am after is 64 GB and my intention is to have all storage (by all, I meant anything that I can move to SD card, I will) saved to the SD card. I understand some Android apps can't be saved to SD card, am not sure the proportions of how many can be transferred vs those that can't.

Upon my research, it seems that SAN Disk with A1, read speed up to 100 is quite recommended. I can't find the equivalent of A1 world for other brands such as Kingston or Samsung. Although I also understand purchasing read up to 100 is a waste of money, particularly for S7.

My budget is < $35.

If I don't have to spend that much, bang-for-buck is much preferable.

So far, I found this card @ $30.77 but I am currently enquiring the seller why P5OZZIE doesn't work.

TIA!

FYI P5OZZIE is expired. If you have other stuff to buy to reach $75 spend you can use PUNCH code to get 10% off.

This is not true, the SGS7 can be used with cards up to 2TB (they don't even exist yet)

At one stage Samsung themselves were giving away 256GB microsd with the purchase of a new S7

You don't have to settle for 64GB if you wanted more.

    • How bout speed wise? Is it a waste to spend on higher read/write card?

Bought a Galaxy S7 (U.S. Unlocked version for all carriers G930U, directly from Samsung.com) and a 64GB SanDisk Extreme Plus (up to 95MB/s) microSD card during Black Friday. Supposedly some of the Extreme Plus are as fast as the Extreme Pro versions (more expensive). Not sure what's up with SanDisk's marketing department, but I got it on sale for $25 so I ain't complaining. Per benchmark copying shiznit between my computers using USB 3.0 card reader stick, I get 96 MB/s reads and 93 MB/s writes. Per A1 SD Bench app on my Galaxy S7 I receive 75.78 MB/s read and 65.49 MB/s write. FYI my doggs in case it helps you. My tests confirm you do not want to purchase a POS 20 MB/s microSD card.

        • Sorry, what is POS?
          Edit : Piece of Crap?

        • @tempura: yea stands for piece of shit. The guy is saying don't be cheap and get a 20MB/s card because the phone is capable of supporting much higher speeds. No idea what

          Is supposed to mean haha
