I didn't notice that. I had only seen the contact number on the main page which was 07 (QLD) area code.

It looks like their online store is run out of QLD.

Online store is based in Queensland. The Fyshwick store that shares the brand and I presume owners will NOT honor any advertised prices online and staff will be VERY quick to inform you the businesses are not related.

  • The Mount Duo is for the Fly12 (front version) so why would they include it for the Fly6??

    • I was wondering that too. Maybe it's to encourage you to get the Fly12 CE. :)

    • I am presuming it’s an error.

  • Great idea and I would love to support an Australian company but seriously, these would have to be the most overpriced cycling accessory available (and that is some achievement). This is coming from a card carrying, Rapha wearing MAMIL who rides a bike worth more than many 2nd hand cars! I just cant force myself to buy a rear flasher for over $200, even if it had enve or zipp stickers on the side it is overpriced!! (last sentence meant as sarcasm!!)

It's a bike 'dashcam'. The light is a bonus feature. Nobody is buying this for the light.

      • Ditto. After watching a few Dash Camera Australia videos I bought dash cams for both my cars. It’s makes sense to ride with a cam as well.

      • I get that, totally understand, I use a shimano action cam (also bought from Pushys) attached to my seatrails, whole setup + my red flasher still cheaper than this. Great idea but massively overpriced. I can buy a 1080i dashcam for my car from china for less that $50, I can buy a brand name red flasher for under $30 why does it cost over $200 to put these 2 ideas together? economies of scale?

Sure, but your battery life is poor.

I have a GoPro mounted on mine, but the paltry ~2 hour battery life will just barely last one longer ride. This one lasts 7 hours. If it's being used for commuting, you might have to recharge a GoPro 2-3 times a week whereas this could last the whole week.

I was also interested in the Shimano CM-1000 from Pushys but the paltry battery life was just like my GoPro so I didn't see much point.

This also has bike-specific features like crash detection, so if you get hit by a car it'll continue recording for a while then lock that recording, so you don't have to remember to manually stop the camera when you're lying by the side of the road with a bleeding skull and broken leg.

          economies of scale?

That's a large reason too. They're not going to sell many of them at this stage, so each individual unit will cost a lot more than a cheap mass-produced non-weather-sealed dashcam. When dashcams first came out, they weren't $50 either.
