Has anyone got any experience with this brand Typhoon that SydneyTools sell? Their pressure washers seem to be way good for the prices. Eg. https://sydneytools.com.au/typhoon-te2625-te2625-120bar-1-6k… 2625psi for $99. I'm comparing them to the recent gernis on sale at Bunnings ($149 for 1800~ psi)

Anyone got experience/comments on this? Much appreciated, cheers.

Edit:

Or here was the deal for the gerni I am referring to earlier in the post: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/349689 but I couldn't find that on Bunnings website anymore, so used the closest gerni I'd compare the typhoon to. By a first glance, looks like the gerni I am comparing has greater max flow rate and slightly higher in other things, so how important is psi? Please let me know your input or any advice on getting one of the other. Thanks very much

  • I brought a typhoon petrol pressure washer from Sydney Tools, Bayswater. It has a Honda engine which you can’t go wrong with but the rest of the parts are inappropriately cheap and only a couple weeks after buying it and after only using it a few times the hose attachment managed to get threaded while undoing it by hand (I assume by a tiny bit of sideways pressure from the hose caused it) and I took it back to see if it would be covered under warranty and they claimed it happened because I tried to do it up on an angle then when it wouldn’t go they said I had used heavy tools to force it to do up and stripped about 10mm of thread lol so they wouldn’t replace it (and there maintenance guy claimed he would know what happened because his dad was a boilmaker lol wtf) so I was just going to buy a new hose but they didn’t have the attachment that was part of the pressure washer so I thought I had wasted $950 but luckily I took it to to a hose specialist where I could get new decent quality fittings and they told me they had never seen such cheap aluminium threads used on a pressure washer before or really on anything except cars and they told me it’s definately why it got threaded.

If I where to do it again I would just buy one of these cheap Chinese imports that are advertised on gumtree for half the price as long as it has a Honda engine then if anything were to break I would just upgrade it like I have to do with the typhoon but I’ve never heard of the Chinese imports being this poor quality.

Or just buy a cheap one from Bunnings who has a good return policy.

    • thanks for the reply. oh dang, what a shame.. yeah a deal at bunnings came up for a gerni for $150. max psi isnt as great at this supposedly is meant to be, but like you said about the return policy, and piece of mind, worth more.
