  • How do you know?

    • The team member I spoke to told me it was going to be a weekend promotion for tomorrow, so I assumed not all stores might have them on show until then.

  • +1

Already listed at 149 on the bunnies website.

    https://www.bunnings.com.au/gerni-classic-125-5-titan-corded…

    • I should have checked that first. I'll update the post.

  • Whats the normal rrp?

    • -2

      $149

    • +2

$149, it is a 'promotional' line.
A Gerni 120.5PC with less accessories is listed as $199 on the website: https://www.bunnings.com.au/gerni-1-4kw-classic-120-5pc-high…

      • +3

Thanks to Op. I had purchased the $199 lower model on Thursday but hadn’t opened. Returned and exchanged today - saved $50, got more accessories and a slightly higher pressure. I bargain does it again

  • +5

Extremely good value. Bought a 120.5PCAD from Super Cheap during one of their 25% off storewides for around $180-190. Similar value in the accesory list, but a stronger piece of kit.

EDIT: Will be buying this and selling my 120.5 on Gumtree

  • Bogan, I mean Kogan is selling it for $300 www.kogan.com/au/buy/gerni-classic-1255-pc-pressure-washer-w…

    • A few more accessories in the bunnings one too

  • +3

Good stuff, but the foam cannon is rubbish. Invest in better unit.

    https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01DKC6IY6/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_awdb_t1_…

    • Do u need special foam detergent too or can u just use the meguiar stuff?

      • Any detergent. Just don't dilute.

      • -1

Depends on what you want to achieve.

If you want to do a pre-wash, you'll probably need a specialist "Snow foam" such as Bowdens Snow Job or Autobrite Magifoam.

For a wash-and-rinse (i.e. not using the two bucket method) I'd say the Meguiars will do the trick.

      • You cant use thick car wash in the units, you need to check that they can be use in spray unit

    • Does that 1/4' fitting work on the Gerni or does it need adapter?

    • Havent had any issues with it myself, maybe you werent using the right type of liquid for the unit?

  • +1

Is this better than the supercheapauto $199 one from couple of month ago?

    • I want to know as swell, this seems a little weaker but it is $50 cheaper

    • +6

      SCA one has:
      - Longer high pressure hose. 8m hose v's 6m
      - Drain snake attachment.
      - Different patio cleaner (looks fancier)
      - High water flow rate Qmax/Qiec(l/h) =520/350 v's 460/ 320
      - free extension lead and water hose.

I reckon SCA deal was better, but this one is still pretty good.

Good deal, bought the 120.5 with lower pressure, less attachments and no hose reel from Autobarn last week on sale. It was $130, worth the extra $20 for all the extras and another 200psi!
Also don't waste your time with the foam cannon this comes with for washing cars, the bowdens one or autobrite ones do a much superior job. I went with the bowdens one when on sale at autobarn for $80.

If you don't want to run the proper foam solution a mate at work runs meguiars gold class straight in his and gets a pretty thick foam from that.

    • I use normal autobarn carwash in mine and covers the cars without any issues. Only issue is if you use thick car wash liquid I found.

How much better is the $80 over it?

      • Do you get a thick foam that dwells well on the car? I couldn't get much luck out of the included bottle but maybe I wasn't getting the ratios as strong as I needed?

I found the $80 one to give a substantially better coat but others may have more luck with the included bottle. Doesn't hurt to try the free one first!

What ratios did you use if you don't mind me asking?

        • +1

Just filled the bottle with car wash, didnt do anything else, and just coated the car

  • I was only looking into Gerni's last night but much of the discussion on Whirlpool etc suggested anything less than $600 models was going to end in frustration, even for light work around the home?
What kind of throw do you get out of these? Ie will it get cobwebs and crap on the eaves of my second story?

    • Not from the ground it won't. A jet nozzle on the hose would do a better job

Edit: The more expensive models have far better pumps with metal parts rather than plastic

      • This has a metal pump.

It's not just the pump that makes a unit fail unfortunately.

Not sure if better but bought that yesterday and has a 4y warranty.

    • Interested in opinions on this too

    • Sure about the 4 year warranty? Bunnings website says it is 2 years.

    • Ryobi is now owned by the Chinese and not made to the same standards as previous

    • +1

My gerni has lasted me 9 years and still going, so 4 year warranty isnt really here or there unless you get a dud unit

  • This is pretty good deal. It is at least $300 normal price. Comes with lot of accessories. Discontinued model probably..

    • Discontinued model probably..

In-store they told me the price is going back UP on Monday.

  • I wish i could get the hose reel for mine, thats the only annoying thing about my old version.

  • looks good to me but wonderng if its good enough to clean the concrete?

    • My 120.5 cleans my backyard concrete fine so this should have no problem

      • That's good to know. I have liquid limestone, some limestone walls also and would also like to be able to clean eaves and under my alfresco and also my deck - would this do the trick in your opinion?

        • Tough for me to comment other than to suggest buying and returning if it doesn't meet your needs

    • Use the patio cleaner as well

  • +10

Thanks OP, great for washing the kids

  • +1

Just FYI but im pretty sure the hose reel holds the hose if it is not hooked into the wand. You cant reel in the hose if it is.

  • +1

I've got the el cheapo Ozito and it is a pain the arse. Weak pressure and small spray diameter, just waiting for it to break and i'll upgrade to a decent one next time.

  • -1

I bought a Gurney brand a year ago. Lasted two uses. Plastic hose fittings give want and crack/break under normal use. Pressure at nozzle is week.
    NEVER AGAIN.
Cheap plastic rubbish. May be a lesser model, but if they release rubbish, I don't care for their higher quality products.

*Never returned as 2nd use was significantly later - receipt long since gone, and rage trashed it after putting up with the leaking rubbish connection for a few more uses (so lasted about a year with obvious degraded performance).

I'm now saving for that Stihl after much research and seeing my Father in laws one and how that has lasted.

    • Not suggesting that it's your fault, but did you store it in the sun or in a shed/garage when not in use?

I found the 120.5 at 1600psi had enough pressure for car washing and hosing patios etc, probably not ideal if you want to remove mould or oil etc from concrete with just a spray though.

      • no probs bruh, yeah, stored completely undercover. I take care of my tools. Cleaned before use. The plastic around the hose join fitting actually perished and a bit broke off (brittle) and it sprayed a leak after second use. Still worked but made me see red as I knew from look and issues it was cheap shit. Not something built to last. Gurney once had a name. My guess is they went the cheap mass produce route. Not sure, but I'd absolutely never get a Gurney ever again.
It honestly just looks like trash out of the box.

I completely accept this may be just "my experience".

    • +1

Sounds like you just needed to replace the o rings. Bunnings sell them cheap.
Or did you set it up without the o rings?

      • did that. The plastic bit that chipped off was past where the o-ring sits. Replaced, but still leaked.

  • Was thinking of getting a Karcher K3 for $249 with patio cleaner (costco - I think bunnings sells this one for $300) for Car, concrete and general house cleaning.. Is this one better? Polarising reviews between Karcher and Gerni.. Even different bunnings people have different choices

    • well at the moment, price difference is $100. I'm thinking of getting K3 too but not sure which is better.

      • +1

Well.. just bought the Gerni… The way I saw it was that I will not be using it every day so can't really say what is better.. Advantage to Gerni is that is has a cord storage wheel which should be easier.. and the $100 I will be saving will go towards a proper foam lance…

  • Is this good to remove mortar splash (cement) from windows and bricks?

    • +1

I would be very careful with that, might crack the windows

  • Can I use this without water (just air) for blowing leaves or saw dusts?

    • Try it and report back on your burnt out motor lol

      • Where abouts is the switch to make the flames come out? Wouldn't want to be pointing it at the unit itself and burn the motor.

  • Will this be strong enough to remove the dried up bird crap from my patio? My current no-brand pressure washer can't do it.

  • +3

Will this be strong enough to wash my filthy little asian balls?

  • None left at Rydalmere. Roughly 20 at North Parramatta.

  • Went in at 7 at Maroochydore, was plenty, but they knew about the deal and were expecting the onslaught it seemed coz 3 people knew where they were when i asked walking in. I got one, already done my pavers - is good for the price.

  • 12 at atarmon

At the front of the tool section, not in aisle 11
