  • I think f should be f3.5 - 5.6

Nice price. But personally I would go for Sigma 17-50mm OS for fixed aperture f/2.8 and extra 1mm on the wide end.

    Half-price sale too:

      And three times the price..

      • if you only shoot in good light, it's ok.
but if you really want something better, it worth $300 and most ppl would have this or similar

        • But this one is stm… Is it true that they focus faster and more silent especially when use for videos

        • @wippy:
          True.

    • I agree

  • Bugger, I'm waiting for delivery for the older f3.5-5.6 from the 10% off ebay sale which was $121-10%=$108.90. This newer lens is 20% smaller and has slightly better IQ than the older 3.5-5.6 lens. You really can't go wrong with this lens at this price on a aps-c body.

    • Compared to the f3.5-5.6 IS STM, the IQ is about the same. The only benefit this lens has over the older one is that it is lighter and smaller.

  • any know if this fit eos 400d ?

    • +1

Yep. A 400d should accept Ef and Ef-S lenses.

      • cheers

    • How about the EOS 600D?

      • It works on all cropped canon dslr's. However, I think you need a 700d or later for the stm autofocus to work with video. Regardless you can still video by manually focusing. The cool thing about this lens to say a pancake or the nifty 50 is that it has image stabilisation. I'm using this lens on a 1100d which is ancient.

Edit continuous stm autofocus in video mode works on 650d bodies and up.

  • Is this the standard kit lense they include in most newer canon cameras?

    • Bingo.

      • wow.. $400+ for this lense? This lense is a great kit lens though… but I wouldn't pay 400 for it, 94 is a good buy.

Is this lens can be use on any model of Canon camera? EOS 5D Mark IV? Just want to buy one?

    • It's an efs lens so it's not suitable for full frame like 5d

  • Hi guys, does anyone know what is "White Box" means? Thanks.

    • It comes in a plain white color box.

    • It's not retail, it comes with a kit but the kit has been broken up and sold separately

      • cool, thanks.

  • Is this lens can be use on any model of Canon camera? EOS 5D Mark IV? Just want to buy one?

    • An EF-S lens will only work on a crop sensor, so your 5D4 is out. The rear element on the EF-S sticks out and would hit the mirror on the 5D4.
