Probably mostly fake reviews. One that might not be fake but…

I thought wireless meant no wires. It turns out it is going to cost me $250..00 or $300.00 to have it fitted by an auto electrician which you recommend to fit it. Had I have known this I would not have made the purchase.

    lol.

Used to (reluctantly) fit these as a sub-contractor, mirror screen is cheap and nasty, menus in newspaper font with horrible sounding beeper, camera is considered illegal as it obscures the top part of the number plate when fitted. Wireless can be problematic also.

Really odd how many 4 and 5 star reviews there are of this product that said "Have not used it" or words to that effect.

I was just looking at reviews for a meat grinder on Kogan as well and found the same thing on a lot of those reviews. "haven't used it yet but I'm sure its good, 4/5" etc. I don't trust it at all

Now that you mention I've seen a completely unrelated Kogan product that had heaps of 5 star reviews like that too

Thanks PinzVidz for your feedback on this product. This is why I love OZB as in Addition to bargains we can get genuine feedback and experts advice. Can you please suggest any better model (Gator etc.) from your knowledge? Because I’m after a reverse parking camera for my 2011 Toyota Corolla and don’t want to go for cheapy. Alternatively, I’m thinking of factory fitted one.

I'm also after a reversing camera for an old Mazda 6.
Can anyone recommend a good and reliable camera?

You always get more than what you bargain for on OZBargain. lol

brandbeast on ebay have a JVC stereo with a reverse camera included for $250. Add 50-200 for fitting (depending on car, fascias, pro install or self install etc..) and you've got a new touchscreen stereo for your car at the same time. I can't link it as i'm at work but the model number is KW-V230BT

Reviews I have seen online suggest this product is unreliable, problematic for some to wire into the reversing lights, with poor quality video both from the camera and due to the low resolution screen. I considered buying this when it was cheaper and rejected it then due to those reasons. If I install an additional camera in the car (I already have 4) I want it to be of good quality and be reliable - qualities this unit does not seem to have.

This is not a bargain, quality is not good.

Invest some more and get a better one. Why is this a deal? I had one, and can say - This is waste of money.

I happen to be looking for one of these, so im glad i read these comments.

Do you have any brand/store/online recommendations?

  • Looks cheap

  • +6

One ‘reviewer’ thought it warranted 5 stars just because
“All parts were in the box and nothing damaged”. Most products would be 5 stars if that was the case

    • Typical Kogan, cheaping out on their paid reviews! Can you really expect better from someone you paid 20c?

  • I bought the aldi one that works and installs the same way - word of warning - mounting all that extra weight on your existing mirror means that it sags down in certain conditions (for me, hot weather). The rear view mirror inst a replacement, just a fits over the mirror with straps.
It also needs power so has a wire dangling from the mirror to your dash, unless you can find a way to tuck it in around your windscreen and over the dashboard to a power output….

  • price is 109? not 69

Anyone know of any decent ones? I'd rather one that has it's own screen, like this Kogan one, rather than one that uses a phone.
