We'll have new accessories coming in Feb including watches, rings and necklaces. We're hoping to keep offers coming, please help us out with an upvote, cheers! ☺️

While it's fine to let people know about your deal, please do not ask people to vote for your deal.

  • Anyone got these? Cheaper elsewhere?

How come the stock pictures of your glasses on your website look exactly the same as the stock photos of $25 pairs on aliexpress?

    https://www.aliexpress.com/store/product/MAOLEN-2017-Wood-Su…

    • China is the home of bamboo so naturally there is a number of alternatives. We've gone to the effort to make sure our products are quality inspected, sustainably manufactured in ethical conditions and guarentee it with a 12 month Australian warranty.

Apologies for some of the images, we're close to updating all with the Woodlens signature engravings.

      • +2

Another explanation could simply be that this product is drop shiped from china with your "woodlens" engraving like Maolin and the others on Aliexpress, and you don't have the stock in Australia to take your own photos. Either way.

For people considering a purchase, could you answer a couple of questions please?

Firstly, as you are "based in Melbourne, Australia and ship across the globe" can you please explain why there is such a long 14 to 21 business day shipping on your promotional products?

And lastly, your website does not seem to provide any contact information or information on your company. To enable consumer confidence, can you please confirm your Company Name and ABN, as well as confirming that purchases will be supplied with a Tax Invoice?

        • +1

No problem and fair questions to ask.

We are not a dropshipping business. You will receive the product pre-inspected for quality and delivered via Australia Post. We're about to seal a big order for Q1/2 and thought it would be a good opportunity to pass on the bulk savings to the OzBargain community.

ABN 73 098 789 286 - No tax file at this stage as we have not yet grossed enough to hit the GST revenue threshold ($75,000). Regardless, we hope to have this administration completed early this year.

We really want to do our best to deliver a great service and quality product. We hope in future we can deliver more unique products exclusively designed by Woodlens.

I hope this helps, let me know if I can clear anything further up.

        • @WoodlensAU:

No tax file at this stage as we have not yet grossed enough to hit the GST revenue threshold ($75,000)

          This is the optional cut-off.
You can still register for GST if you earn LESS than $75k.
Applying GST and Paying tax is good for everyone, don't be like evil google / evil apple / evil bhp / evil royals

        • You're very right and our application will be submitted before the end of this quarter.

I hear you about the aforementioned evil, it's us little guys that are relied on to keep the cogs turning!

  • Here to answer any questions, yell out!

    • Is there a measure for how much light gets through? I'm looking for near blackout.

      • Lens category 3:
These sunglasses provide a good level of UV protection. Lens category 3 glasses also provide a high level of sun glare reduction.

You can also get category 4 however they are so tinted you cannot drive with them.

        • Why wouldn't you be able to drive with category 4? I've never heard of any rule / legislation that says I can't drive with your cat 4 lenses. Happy to be corrected.

        • @dangerdanger: Category 4 sunglasses are really dark even during the day, even things like car indicators become hard to see at a distance. Category 4 is less than 8% light transmissibility

        • @boomy: Sure, but I 'cannot' and 'should not' are different things.

I know you're just doing your job as the critic but please take into account the costs of running a business on-shore, QA and the 12 month warranty.

You may be price driven but not all consumers jump straight to Shenzhen when they think service and experience.

"please take into account the costs of running a business on-shore, QA and the 12 month warranty"

This is a bargain site, not a support-local-businesses site.
It's equal opportunity - bargains from local or overseas are treated equally depending on the final cost to the consumer.

        "You may be price driven"

        OzB is price-driven.

Wow so much cheaper at aliex that I have to neg this deal. Almost like trying to fool the typical punter into buying 'Australian' when they come out of the same Chinese factory.
