Laphroaig 10 Year Old 1 Litre $90 (Plus Shipping) @ Nick's

570

Received an email from Nick's with some Laphroaig deals:

Free delivery for most $200+ orders, otherwise $10-25
https://www.nicks.com.au/australian-freight

My "go to" whisky is Lagavulin 16, however I rate the Laphroaig Quarter Cask even better. The Laphroaig 10YO is also great value at this price. I've tried the Select Cask, but not a fan.

    NO DEAL!

Jokes..! nice one mate, got two bottles of the 1 litre QC.

    • Me too! They should last a while :)
I received a few different Islay bottles for Xmas, plus I have an Octomore that I bought a few months back for $145. I'm all set for 2018.

  • Nice price on the 25YO

You didn't go full Borden…. Need to embellish about selling it for more and making $ from it… lol

  • Aww I was hoping they were mini wooden quarter casks.. Great prices.

Thanks Op paired it with a 18y Glenfiddich for free shipping

  • Oh man, Laphroaig is my favorite SM so far and I still bring out my empty bottle for the occasional peaty sniff… Always difficult trying to convince my better half that this is a reasonable purchase :'(

    Direct import means no TRS?

    • +1

ooo.. good question… if direct import from overseas, then the buyer would be liable for a shit load of tax

    • +2

TRS defies the purpose of saving money - whiskies in Australia is much more expensive due to alcohol tax, currently at $80 per litre of pure alcohol. This tax component is not refunded for hard liquors including whisky. Many overseas markets do not have this tax. Would you rather not buy cheaper while overseas?

FYI, Laphoraig 10 700ml is $40 in China. Glenfarclas 105 1000ml can be bought for $35. Genuine whiskies, I've bought them.

  • Quarter cask sold out.

Surprised so many drinkers enjoy the quarter cask, I feel like you can taste the youth and lack of depth. The 10 is a much better offering.

  • Big Peat Islay blend is being sold for $62.90. This compares favourbly to Nicks' $99.99:
