OzBargain Preferred Overseas Electronics Seller Polling [Popularity Contest]

I would like to run a quick simple 30 days poll on whose sellers are your most preferred overseas seller.

By preferred, you can look at it from different angles, perhaps:

  • Communication
  • Pricing
  • Shipping
  • Return/Refund Policy
  • and many more

Admin please delete if not allowed.

Extra note: due to poll modifications the votes have to start from zero. See here for a reason why

    Why?

    • +2

because he was bored and want to know too much

      • Upvoted!

  • No option for Harvey Norman or Dick Smith?

    • Perhaps overseas that I am more interested in … so Dick Smith may count, let me try adding.
EDIT: can't add to the Poll.

    None of them.

Most of those sites are ali-express based drop shippers…. I think..

Funny how much revenue a well designed Joomla site that hooks into the Ali API could generate.

    • Most of those sites are ali-express based drop shippers…. I think

None of them are. Some of them have AliExpress stores. Infact most of the companies behind these stores predate AliExpress.

      • Can we include Aliexpress in the poll?

        • I'll start compiling a summary for Mod to update … thanks for the feedback.

  • +1

Only shop at these guys if ozbargain says that particular item at a particular price is a bargain. Don’t care who I buy from.

    • My orders list on each of these sites is exclusively from OzB posts haha.

  • +1

Everbuying is Gearbest so don't really need them in the poll.

    • If this is confirmed to be accurate, can I please kindly get Mod to update to GearBest/Everbuying and remove one of them?

      Many thanks!

      • +2

        Yeah they have 50+ sites.

  • where is aliexpress?

    • +4

      Hangzhou, Zhejiang, China.

      (And not on the poll)

    • Apology; I should've added Ali Express and many more.
Mod, will you be able to append Ali Express to the poll pretty please? Thank you.

i like aliexpress because i can mark them as received so i can keep track of what i have bought (and not arrive yet).
i think gearbest doesnt have this function - maybe im wrong.
but seriously, i never had issue with all of them. one in 20x maybe one doddgy sellers failed to deliver and keep stalling - aliexpress refunds in full.

tips for aliexpress: make sure ask if the item genuine if you are unsure. and dont pick the very very cheapest one most likely they are scammer.

    • Actually you can mark items as received on Gearbest now, same with Banggood. Not that I ever remember to do it..

      • i see yes can from website not from android app. aliexpress can

  • Mod,

Summary of changes compiled as of 4 Jan @ 10:43 AM AEST:
    * Please update GearBest to GearBest/Everbuying.
    * Please remove Everbuying from the poll option.
    * Please add AliExpress to poll option.

too much work for Mod they are busy shopping and finding bargains for us….

      • Ok then we'll work with what we had.

  • Deal Express dx.com ?

    newfrog.com

Not voting for, just adding to the list

  • i'd buy from any except for Zapals.

I'm skating on ice because I reckon I may be due for some disappointment from one of them but all it takes is one bad experience from any to stop you buying.

    And that is Zapals.

I think Gearbest had a huge turnaround right? Back in 2015 they got banned?

  • I only buy from GearBest and BangGood.

Avoid the others - Lightinthebox, Zapals and GeekBuying.

    • </3 What's the issue with the other sellers?

      • unresolved issues

i dont mind if a company has problems but they have to fix them

i personally havent had an issue with LITB or GB but there's been reports about missing stuff and not sorting out returns refunds etc.

        • Thankfully all GeekBuying issues presented to me have been resolved. You know about half of people confuse Geek with Gearbest?

Still far less than the others and no bans ever issued.

      • Lightinthebox - their slow dispatch puts me off.
        23 Feb 2017 - paid.
        02 Mar 2017 - order shipped.

Zapals - freebie with paid shipping fee? in case of refund, its $0.

GeekBuying - I dont like paying in US$.

GeekBuying - I dont like paying in US$.

You know you can pay in AUD right? Just like all the others the AU rate can be inflated.

  • Couple of eBayers have impressed me.

bestofferoverhere ….. second XDUOO X3 DAP paid for on 22 December arrived yesterday.
Similar with a previous one and a mini PC.
    Great prices.
    Surprised at their 98.6% rating.

takaakikawakami …… two pairs of Zero Audio IEMs purchased on 26 December also arrived yesterday.
Friends are having their test runs, them I'll get a listen.

    @ Tempura
Unfortunately, something went wrong — trying to modify the poll options caused each poll to reset, so the votes are now back to Zero. Apologies for that. I wasn't able to restore the old poll data.

I did however capture a screenshot prior to making the change and if you're interested in seeing the poll results before I made the mistake, see here

    • that's fine @scrimshaw .. thanks for your help. much appreciated.

  • The sites that offer ridiculous cheap stuff are probably the most popular.

  • Most of the online stuff I bought in 2017 came from Aliexpress

  • GearBest still winning so far; great achievement folks from GearBest !
