Second Hand Solar Systems - What's Legal? (WA)

Hi all.

I'm wondering what the legalities are in relation to installing second hand solar systems.

Recently been looking at deals on gumtree for Solar Systems second hand. For example, fully working systems with 8x200w panels plus SunnyBoy 1.5kw inverter + all cabling, rails etc. Total cost ~$250

If I can install the system myself with help from qualified sparkies who know the rules and regulations regarding solar (they have their own systems), I can theoretically have a 1.5kw system fully installed for approx $300.

However, I understand there are regulations and laws about Solar and as far as i know, you need a license to install new systems, but I am unsure about second hand. I know you are allowed to install systems off-grid and do what you like, but as soon as it connects to the grid it's a different story. From my understanding and what I've read, you just need a sparky to put in a ticket saying that solar is installed and just have to make sure you have a newer meter.

To be clear, I'm not interested in rebates or tariffs for extra power produced. It would already be profitable for me. My household consumes average 8.5kwh per day at cost of 24c each.

The long and the short:
Can anyone clarify the rules, things to watch out for or be careful for?
